lol, we should rather meet on Fight Night Champion for some punching fest. Whenever i buy a 360 i'll not play Anil anytime soon before i reach some decent level, i don't want finding myself ebaying my xbox after some early demoralising experience.

Good plan. But I'll teach you all the tricks. Cause the others already know how to play TS3 . And there is not much difference really.

Had a very close match with Baghdad last night. He squeezed past me 6-1 6-0 :P Ironically enough, the second set felt closer than the first.

Well yesterday I had my longest TS4 Topspin session ever by a long mile. A combination of my Fiancee falling asleep early and also my sleeping patterns a bit up the wall I played well into night which is not like me at all...

Also I got to play some of the Americans which was a nice addition. Loads to report on but I just want to highlight the following:

Baghdad IV vs Tenjintenkai 6-0 6-4

A really enjoyable match, Tenjin is a very talented player who plays the game very SIM-like. His David Ferrer was great. Tenjin seems to sway quite heavily towards control shots which is nice because 50% of my game is control shots so the point construction was deep.

Baghdad IV vs Coolhand Texas 6-3

It was nice to finally play Luke (Coolhand), he was using his a Richard Gasquet custom and has done a nice job with the him. I was up 4-1 and coasting and I took my foot off the gas a bit and got punished. He is still a great player out there and whilst the 1/2 drop shots a game were a bit too many for my liking he hit them with precision and his all round game was good.

Baghdad IV vs Sherlock117 6-1 5-7

It was really sweet to finally play Sherlock, I think in TS3 he was already retired when I turned up and so I think we only ever played once before (TS3). After seeing his viewpoint on the forum about SIM/TS4 I wanted to explore his game and I was not disappointed.

The first set I came out of the blocks firing and I think Sherlock was taken back by it a bit. Despite the scoreline in the first there were some great rallies and loads of replays we left playing. 6-1

The second set was a requested rematch by Sherlock as I think he wanted to roll his sleeves up and focus, and that he did. I would say at least 75% of our service games went to deuce and SO many long battles where we thought the other was out of the point but a control shot or deep slice / control slice would get us back in the point. I had break points as he did but at 5-5 he finally broke me after tons of deuce holds and served it out. 7-5.

Sherlock was also using a Gasquet custom although his player looked more like Dennis Rodman haha. Orange hair (shaven) and an orange kit. My financee woke up whilst I was playing it and said "he looks pretty cool" and I was like "stuff him what about me?" and she was like "nah"

Baghdad IV vs AnilITST 4-6 6-7 6-7 6-7

We actually played 2 x 2 set matches and I can tell you these were sublime. Both our defensive games are very strong so we really had to throw each other around the court to create the opportunities to finish a rally. Both of us have accurate serves both we were already to return tons of serves and create break point opportunities.

I was pleased to break Anil's serve on 2 occasions but Anil found a way to break back. In the 4 set Anil was 3-1 up and 0-40 on my serve but I managed to hold, then break and then the rest went on serve to the tie break. After a huge fight I was serving at 7-6 with a mini break but Anil was like "you ain't taking this set off me Baghdad"

I am pleased to have pushed Anil because I hear he is one of the top rated players so it nice I am in the mix again :)

A great session and also worth pointing out that all the above matches were without TOPSPIN INVASION & MONSTER DEFENSE coach skill.

Bag I think you are of course in the mix. I don't think TS4 is so different from TS3. Beside the risk is missing. So it was only a matter of time before we would be at the same level.
The matches were great. Great play.....no complaints only fun.

Hey Baggy! I really enjoyed our match yesterday night. We had some crazy rallies.
I took a beating in the first set but managed to slightly change and adapt to your game in the 2nd. I will get you next time!!

I also played with Norberto today and it was much closer than last time. He used a powerful player and i used my all around Ferrer (who looks like a Flintstone). Aces were annoying as usual

I really enjoy these exhibition matches! Puttu and Anil are hyper strong as well. I might get there someday.

But i still have to figure out a few weird things from the game.... like:
-why a custom player with almost the same stats than a pro player doesnt seem as strong?? i know there's one less special skill but it doesnt count on my observations.
-the return serve extra skill is somewhat hard to master?? i seem to return exactly the same than without it. Sometimes i make a killer return but it is as rare as when i use a player whithout this skill.
-What's the deal with stamina? i made Ferrer a defensive/all around player with good stamina stats and the guy seems weaker on that aspect than other players i made. I am carefull to mainly use control shots and not use RB to often but still it drains like crazy.
-lots of other things... 8)

Well I guess you can do everything without the skills. But once you get a skill for example return you might have some more reflexes ...as if you wouldn't have that skill you wouldn't.

That's what I would make of it?

sorry for the dropshots baghdad. Its just that when you are a dropshot artist and only have 59 on power its hard to hit through people, and i would love to get those angles but you were better at me than that, so i just used what i had available . the drop shots.

Would you all consider it unsportsman like though if i have dropshot artist and only 59 on power and hit more dropshots than most people? If so just let me know and ill change. Probable would change characters though

Rocketsfall and I had a very nice exibition match today. My serve and volleyer, karlovic, vs his baseliner, Dave Davedonkey, lol.

Hawkeye vs Rocketsfall 1-6 6-3 6-4

I got blown away in the first set due to Rockets' great play. That set was literally 5 minutes long. I couldn't believe how well he was returning. Lol, I questioned whether I should have gone s&v.

2nd set: I decided to really take my time. Take each game 1 point at a time and forget about that 1st set blowout. I changed up my serve pattern as much as possible, but "how?" I thought. I was trying to randomize my serve as much as possible in the 1st set yet he took it so easily. How much random did I have to get? I just said, "Yeah I'm probably gonna get bageled this 2nd set anyway. Whatever". Somehow I was actually able to hold my serve multiple times , and I found a way to do what seemed impossible and break Rockets. I miraculously maintained the lead and took the set.

3rd set: I broke Rocket in the very first game. I was feeling good like "Yeah this set is mine 8)", only for him to return the favor and break right back . Lol both breaks happened so quickly too. 4-4, with rocket's serving. We got into a long drawn out game. Duece after duece after duece until I finally managed to get the break. If he had held I probably would have lost cause that was my final push. Something told me that I better break now, or else if he holds he will break me. I managed to squeeze out 1 more hold, and at the end of it all couldn't believe that I had come back.

Rockets played too good in that first set and I didn't think I stood a chance. GG. I really enjoyed it.

I also played 3 sets with puttu puttuu yesterday. His soderling vs my s&v/defensive baseliner hybrid, all rounder, and counter puncher.

Soderling vs hybrid 6-1
vs counter puncher 5-7
vs all rounder 6-1

Your defense is really good puttu. Baghdad how do you manage to get 4 games off him with your all rounder. It's very tough for me. The 1 game I held was because I just went bat$#!t offensive.

We met earlier in a WT match in what was like a battle of the powderpuff players  Neither of us were playing with any power. You won 3-0 despite all 3 games going to deuce IIRC.
