Postby lucagiaco » Mon, 09 May 2011 00:12

Hello guys.do you like play with the player that have 85 or more in speed that play every shot with a drop shot and take the points easy?..Ok the top spin invasion maybe is a problem but usally i use a player with 15 defence and 5 attack and i can beat a player with top spin invasion with no drop shot..I hate the people that have 85 or more in speed and play every time and every shot a drop shot.for me is not fair and not fun.usally i use a player no top spin invasion and monster defence and i lost the matchs with ts invasion players bt i don't use never a drop shot.sorry my english

If you never use drop shots then maybe you should start doing so. If you use it wisely, you'll be an even better player. Banning something you don't understand doesn't make you a better player, it makes other people who can use it well worse.

i'm not a bad loser  .For me is not a problem lost a match in a videogame..usally i have a player that have 15 in defence and 5 in attac and i don't use never a drop shot.if you have a player with a big power you can take much every shot and if you use good drop shot you can take the points very easy. For exemple in topspin 2 in itst the slice services and drop shot was banned for match more fun.

Critical situations call for drastic measures....and anyway, every law has a loophole...

Drop shots are hard to master and when someone win a point with a perfect drop shot I can only cry and try to counter it...
It's not that hard to counter by the way... If you're not out of position of course.

I don't think the dropshot should be banned. In TS4 you can counter them . But like we did in all games. Abuse is cheesy and cheesy play styles are NOT allowed .

So if you feel someone played cheesy in an ITST match notify the host I would say.

I would say abusing drop shots isn't even cheesy in this game. It was called cheesy in TS2 because of the low risk / high reward. In TS4 it simply isn't the case. At worst I would just call it annoying.

I would call it cheesy and annoying :-) I mean a dropshot here and there great. But every other point it is. For me things are cheesy when you don't actually see it happen in the ATP or WTA. And being abused in a game as it's easy to do so.

Can't compre things that happen in the ATP to things that happen in a video game with very rigid parameters and a control system that you can actually 'master' (Unlike real life where you will never 'master' the 'controls').

IMO it's almost like trying to draw similarities between Blackjack and Poker... just because they're both card games, that doesn't really mean they're similar in any way

ATP tennis is to video game tennis what racquetball is to squash

edit a couple hours later: I also think the drop shot in this game is fine...I played djarvik and he hit quite a few drop shots...he hit a few good ones but he also had quite a few where I was able to put them away easily...I didn't see them as a problem at all, it takes skill to hit a good drop shot IMO

I don't think we can compare it 100% but atleast try to simulate. So if you hit 5 to 6 dropshots per game the whole match you know really simulating stuff. It for me the reason I play ITST really :-)

I played Sherlock or other people who hit dropshot but not too often. That's cool with me.

But if the drop shot is the only way to defend vs wide servers and ti/md what can you do?

I personally use it only against these players...

Some players are funny when they are in trouble and not winning comfortly. They quit the game and saying that drop shot is cheating...

So drop shot is cheating, deep slices is cheating, deep balls in general is cheating...FFS get over it...

Retos see you in another tournament match. I will play 200 drop shots as you said. Try to quit again...

TI/MD and quiting my @ss...
