GOA MASTER MDMA wrote:the setups looks very good ,from both players .
the only point to discuss is MAYBE the high power stat in association with the high serve stat !
everything else looks pretty balanced .

only 2 stats are over 80 on both sides . okay pfnerch have 3 stats over 80 ,but instead only 1 over 90 .

so both setups are not stacked -

this player i played was unrealistic. i played with him bec i knew that he played with a power guy. my other Player is more realistic

As always I completely agree with your call.

I am going to sum up my understanding of Pfnerch's point toppled with mine:

Scenario 1

*Big Serve-Power: Player A vs Big Serve-Power: Player B

Result = No rallies, tons of aces, tons of unplayable serves.

Tour = World Tour 100%

Scenario 2

*Big Serve-Power: Player C vs Balanced Set-Up: Player D

Result = Tons of aces + tons of unplayable serves from Player C, no or short rallies in general, less need for shot construction and execution from Player C as relying on Power to compensate for any other XP short falls once in the point. Player D, assuming the same topspin ability, has to work 3 times harder to stay in the match than Player C.

Tour = World Tour/90:40 player against a balanced ITST player having an awful experience.

Scenario 3

*Balanced Set-Up: Player D vs Balanced Set-Up: Player E

Result = Tons of rallies, point construction, variety, mental strength key, outwitting opponent key, ability to build a point up and then unload, timing key, placement more vital, 30 point rallies on occasions, stamina and resilience more vital as points deepen, presents greater opportunities to get to the net, learn to defend your weaknesses rather than avoid them with a big set up. SIM like.

Tour = ITST Tournaments 100% with players having fun and playing the game to the deepest level

Key Point

Anyone can use big set ups, for example "Sinna" big set up vs "Pfnerch" big set up, and the match would be far more even assuming the topspin ability levels were similar. However, making the assumption "Sinna" big set up vs "Pfnerch" big set up and "Pfnerch" being the better skilled player of Topspin, the result would be very different...

...Now the average player with big set up does not know why he is not winning regularly?! The answer is he is not the better player pound for pound.

In ITST, the vast majority commit to the tour because they want to play full realistic tours where cheesy, excessive stats and glitches are not abused - or else they would live on the world tour right?

One day, about a year ago I decided to create a character in TS3 and play the world tour which I had not done since a year before. At this time I was playing SIM tour full time. For dirty pleasure, I created a 6ft 9in monster called Mr 99. All Xp's ended in a 9 with Power 99, serve 99, backhand 89, forehand 79, return 69 etc. I went on the tour and played like 10 matches, a few of which were against the season leaders. I CRUSHED THEM LIKE LITTLE BUGS

Need I go on?

And you agree with this Crap? Please Guys.

Everybody who has such a Serve and gets breaked has no Skill. What is he talking. He is just talking crap but you can't change my Opinion with your Crap. Keep on talking.

You totally forget the Balance Aspect and the weak Points such a Character as mine have. I could also say everybody who loses against such a Character with such weak Points as mine has no Skill at all and I would be absolutely right. Who says something else has no clue about the given Top Spin 4 Balance from 2K.

Sinna!

I am very surprised by you , you act like you know everything about TS4's gameplay , yet you hardly use any control shots... Do you really think you are playing the game at the fullest by just bashing the ball back and forth ? The game as so much for to offer !

With a balanced set up , bashing the ball in like you do would not win you anything ! Control shots are there to mix things up , change the pace and tire your opponent ! These shots add complexity to this game , allowing you to apply strategy ! I Hardly see any type of strategy in your style !

At the end of the day , you think you get it all ! People here have seen players playlike you do for years ! Let me tell you something , it's boring ! I hope you soon realise this .

Stop hiding behind your power and serve and explore the game ! A monkey could play like you do ! left -right - left right !

Take my word for it , playing guys experienced guys like Kebab or Djarvik is like playing a chess game !

First off all, a Monkey couln't play like me fore sure.

Who do you Guys think you are? Seriously. Tomorrow I have the Game one weak and I have spend more time talking to you Guys than playing the Game. For example I played five short Matches the whole Day yesterday and I din't play more than that the Days before.

Ofcourse there is much to explore in the Game but you Guys play the Game the same way by searching for one site with your Hits like me and I know the Controlshots, don't worry.

You are almost talking like I would have the Game one Year know and seriously if you keep on writing such a Shit about my Style and that I have no Skill and so on you will chase me with that and I won't play the Tour with you Guys. If you really want this then keep on talking this Way.

I am playing Top Spin since the very Begining and had it ever what it takes to be competitive and I ever played better then the Average. I am not saying that I am on the same TS4 Level like some of you Guys right now but I have all Chances to get there. Maybe some Gyus are bit faster to learn the Things or playing the Game much more intense since the Demo but that doesn't mean much.

I mean seriously I don't have to excuse anything only because I choosed the offensive Baseline Style I want play or that I created legit Characters.
And you may not forget that I didn't play Tennisgame to the fullest since the very first Top Spin Part. I mean I tried them all out and it's right that I already played Tennisgames before some of the first Guys here had already hairs on their balls because some Guys here are young and I am 29 now but that's another Point. I din't play TS2 to the fullest and consitent and I didnT play TS3 to the fullest and consistent. But I did it with TS1 because it was a Game I loved for at least 2 Years.

I am just doing what everybody does, I am playing the Game and I like it so far and I am still better than the Average what qualifies me to be a Part of this ITST Community and to search for the Competition here.

You know to master something in a Game needs Time and that doesn't mean that I don't have the Skills to do that only because I am no Progamer from the Beginnig or that some of you Guys are smarter or better than me when it comes to the Sills you need to perform something in a specialy way.

You may not forget that some of Guys did nothing else besides your real Life Duties than playing in the ITST the last Years. Ofcourse I have a Advantage and more Experience if I do this over years and nothing else than that and if I played more Matches than Gulbis, Agassi and Federer together against the Top ITST Guys.

I didn't play more than one or two ITST Tournaments in my whole Life and that was in the TS1 Days. But I played many ITST Guys in TS1 in the Past besides the ITST. ^^

Who do we think we are?

Well I am Baghdad (formerly Baghdad Kebab), that would be Puttu Puttuu and this would be ITST, so who the devil are you?

I was not having a direct jibe at you, I was using an example to illustrate the point. I said "making an assumption that Pfnerch" was better than you - I said that because how would I know your level of play without ever seeing you play? I used both your names because you have been cat fighting in here for about 2 weeks now right?

The way I see it is that you can't expect to start threads about "look how great this match is on my video" "check out my sexy serve" and expect members to go, Woooow, you the man

I am not talking like I am a master at TS4, i never said that once - like you said, TS4 has only been out a week. However it is merely a principle that can easily be applied to TS4 as it was in TS3. Also, we ain't a minority here, look at all the great players from TS3 - Puttu, Illuv, Rae, Moral, Djarvik, Hamburgerboy, Anil, Zmazing Zizou, SMP, Pfnerch etc - they all share my sentiments as they backed the SIM tour to the fullest. They have also been there in the 90-40 days but most if not all either dropped it like a bad smell or a handful played both but loved the SIM tour more.

So I am going to kind of say that I stand up and listen when people talk sense. Not some chap who posts 100 times a day, one after the other with no appreciation for Topspin. It kind of just feels like you are a World Tour guy, who loves posting on ITST but is at the same time oblivious to what is going on. Talk to Goa Master though, you guys will get on like a house on fire. Guys with big serves and power are just ten a penny. And be assured that caps will come in and whilst I do not know what that level will be I think you can be assured that it won't lie in 98 x 98 muscle bound honey monsters.

Just to pick you up on a point you made:

* I have not "totally forgot the Balance Aspect and the weak points" - I actually directly addressed it in Scenario 2....
..."As relying on Power to compensate for any XP short falls once in the point". Basically meaning an average player can use Power and Serve like a cripple using a crutch to support his bad leg - he is never going to fall over but there is no denying he is a cripple  What have you got like 40 speed or something, man why would you really need to pool on that XP anyway? What to chase down like 1 ball a game? ....

I surprised you even have to move at all after you have served. You might as well be a ball machine fixed to the centre of the baseline, lifted 7 feet in the air, firing real cannon balls down at your opponent and then low and behold, hanging the you tube video up like dirty laundry on the forum for us all to see

P.s who cares if you were playing Topspin 1 before we were even scratching our balls, I am 31 and I was sucking my mommy's nipple before you so there

pfernch and puttu puttu...the serve in the game is overpowered, and i am almost positive a rule will be made to limit the serve...but i played sinna sinna today and he very talented at hitting the lines..
BUT
although i feel that sinna's serve makes the game less fun, u need to apreciate that he is posting these videos...your arrogance is a joke..after reading one long paragraph from each of u, i have learned to just skip over the rest...u need to chill out and quit being pricks.....

IF IT IS DECIDED THAT A RULE CHANGE NEEDS TO BE MADE, THEN IT WILL HAPPEN..

Thx Mike but you know what? 15/5 OFB/DFB is already the Limit to create a offensive Baseliner with these two Extraskills Serve Stick Beserker and Focus Service. And that's what my new Player that you played against is. He has 15 Levels o OFB and 5 and DFB. And you saw how easy it was for you to hold your Servicegames against me.

Good Game by they Way. :D

I can't believe I read the whole thread, I feel bloated now. I did especially like these choice quotes:
