You're right...I just wish they would have never even put a drop shot related skill in the game- it's just a terrible idea.

I'd never use 'drop shot artist' because I'm not French but I guess you gotta use it if you have it.

LOLLLLL

Take a chill pill.

1) It was totally a joke and I am only continuing the ongoing joke of 'French players hit lots of drop shots'.

2) That's not a 'xenophobic' statement, you need to seriously reeevaluate what falls under the category of 'xenophobic'. If I said something like 'French people are all miserable bastards', or something else about their personalities in an extremely generalized manner, then that would be xenophobic.

3) I don't hate any ethnicity or race or nationality at all so it's kinda funny you're even accusing me of this.

4) I've never said anything remotely xenophobic in the past so I don't know what you mean by 'one more'. Please don't tell me you're referring to my comments about cheese.

Yeah, the introduction of drop shot artist maybe is an error, but, since that there's a coach that gives the abilities drop shot artist and smell of blood (an ability less useful than other, so they give it with another good ability and high stats), i have to think that the 2k wanted and allowed that the players with that ability often use drop shots.

Just because something is a skill, doesn't mean it should be abused, spammed, or overused. Which is really the issue here. Just becasue you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

Unlike the groundstrokes, and volleys, the drop shots are among the rarest shots used in a tennis match, which is why 'overusing' them on TS4 stands outs so much.

For a community striving for a realistic as possible approach to TS4, using drop shots on 2 out of 3 points, kind of defeats the point (no pun intended ). That is the challenge of competitive games - balancing the desire to win, win, win, with a need for fun and enjoyment for all involved.

I know I wouldn't be eager to play a 2nd match against someone who used dropshots that often. Regardless of whether I won or lost, I would find it at best - boring, at worst - irritating or annoying. This coming from someone who has a created player with the skill.

I used to think I was indecisive... but now I'm not so sure.

I love when people use drop shots against me. It's almost an automatic win for me when I hit the return cross court.

The bottom line is every player has strength and weaknesses people complain about playin serve and volleyers as they cant seem to break them which can be hard but the flip side is their groundstrokes are so bad that they should not be able to break you either. You just have to learn how to use your strengths and play on their weaknesses. Not saying its easy but its not impossible to beat players with amazing stats in one area that they continually use.

I've been trying out welch recently and I think it'd be better if the skill just didn't exist, I hope it isn't in the next game. Drop shots can be executed well enough as it is. I definitely don't overuse them and make a point of not using them too often, but it's like the game is inviting people to play dropshots every point by giving this skill to coaches like welch. My welch player is fun to play with but I can't see myself using him very often because the matches just take forever... he's effective but it's always gruelling and long. Some matches when I'm stuck in an endless rally with my opponent behind the baseline I always have in the back of my mind that if i play a dropshot, one way or another the marathon point will end. For the sake of having a tennis match I still keep it realistic but I guess a lot of people don't.
