My chars have like 65 power max on them , but a lot of speed , one of mines has 88 on speed but its pointless, and ive noticed that , doesnt matter how much speed you give you character in this game , ive used a char with 61 speed and its just the same i dont think they have put much thought into any other stats other than power to be honest which is weird because thats what people hated about the last Topspin game so obviously not much has changed but now its just even worse because there is like no difference , and i certainly dont see stamina making any difference towards the game whatsoever

I don't think it should necessarily be banned. It's just not particularly fun to play against/with. To me it's just a lazy style that suggests its user simply does not want to go through actually having to win points by way of skillful rallies, but rather just quickly seize them. It's okay and all, and I don't mind it once in a while. I think it's just the guys who use that style and just try and serve outside constantly to open up that quick winner off the return. To me that immediately becomes one of the more arcade-like flaws of the game. The other real problem is the speed factor being off, though it has improved a bit since the update. I still think players are able to hit with too much of a precision and power combination while tired and on the run.

This is the most annoying setup to play, but also one of the easiest to beat, imo.

Their only weapon is power, but if you play them right, you can actually use it against them. If you can do that, they have nothing left to beat you with.

Actually the problem here is the 98 on serve, if they are good at serving.
I don't mind about the power, they can 100 on power if they wish, during rallies it's useless against me, and btw i just have time to play the game 1-2 hours a week

We cant all be like you man, you gotta think for the average people and i can definetely say than 98 serve with SSB and 98 power bothers a LOT of people, me being one of them.

But you know in the end nothing that i say will matter really so im trough with discussing this, this setup isnt unbeatable but its really annoying to the other guy but its beatable.

With the update its harder to counter big power players but i´ve got the hang of by now, i even gave up on my Welch because of its little power for a more balanced speed and power build.

nah you're probably right, i mean my statement is based on matches against WT guys, i haven't played the 98/98 guys here at ITST because mainly because i don't play tournaments so don't take into account my words.

well fabada got me to believe 98/98 was damn OP, but now that he stopped it and still is a beast i changed my mind, it s just the man behind the controller who is deadly.

Yes, but if someone is very skilled at service (at 98 ), there s nothing you can really do against it. Your player don t even move to the left or right if you put the stick right/left. He simply acts like "i can t see that ball coming, so i don t move."

I really wonder how Loki was able to win the 2nd set vs. Avinash 6-1...Avinash must have a mental time out, otherwise it is not possible.

Agreed, in fact i played a certain top ranked ITST player a while back who would not only serve ALWAYS open but he would also move all the way to the doubles line and then take one tiny step back. cheap much? and then he sad that i used glitch returns all game when in fact it happened 3 times in more than 3 sets.

About me beating Avinash 6-1, yeah it was probably because of a mental loss or breakdown for having lost the first set being one break ahed of me.

Did you ever try taking a step back?

You don't have to hit great returns against these guys - just get the ball back and try to get into a rally.

This is a cheat style in my opinion because 98 serve and power is much more different than 100 power and 91 serve. If the player is good he is almost unbeatable in his serve. Then, the only way to counter it is a cheasy lob or drop return. If they want like this, they will have it. Roll on lob returns...

INFO for ITST matches.

That 98/98 setup is not banned here yet, what is banned and cheesy in our book is returning using drop shots and lobs, if we have news anyone is playing that way a suspension will be in order

You are right but 98 power and serve is by itself arcadey and cheasy. So the only way to counter them is lob returns. As far as i know lob returns are not banned. And its the best return for the berserker serve type. You are not doing it all the time, just when he serves and not again always...
So you are saying lob returning in 98 power & serve is forbidden or not?Someone needs to clarify that so that we know...
