The problem isnt the game being bad, the only people that really dont like it are the old TS3 veterans from what I have noticed., The TS3 created player aspect was weak, the coaches aspect added to TS4 is a very good idea, although not made as good as it can be, TS3 and TS4 are both too SLOW in comparison to real tennis, the risk shot aspect would have been great in TS4 as the coaches aspect would prevent it from being exploited.. TS4 is alot more balanced than TS3. I dont notice players who are not of a high level that stop playing... So when considering the top 10 inactive players on xbox, I only think 1/9 quit due to it being a "bad" game..

Dapery - Lost to me and claimed he didnt want to play with cheaters.
Loki - Not enough time to play anymore / Repetitiveness in TS4
Berson + Avinash - Banned
Holla itz mike - Didnt like that the management banned TI/MD.
J0ker FR and Davidou - Overpowered coaches were boring for them to play.
Baghdad - Dont know.
Jimboooo - Didnt like the management team, after he was cheated by bretton james.
StrategyGuide - Lost to me and complained about my setup being overpowered and me cheating.

Only other players that should be mentioned are Iluvbillval and Khult... Apparently... Iluvbillval quit due to the glitch, and no real way of knowing if someone is glitching and the assumption that the top players were glitching (Sh0 Me BK) or so i heard... but he was on a crazy unbeaten run until he lost to BK in 5 sets, then he stopped playing so i dont know.. Khult just stopped playing due to him struggling to arrange times with people due to his job and him being american.

All I am really saying, not too many top level players on TS4 left due to this being a bad game.

Dennie does have a solid point, i notice lower level players who join the site, and a majority of them quit due to the realisation that they cant compete as they tend to play either the number 1 2 3 or 4 seeds in their first few matches... IMaturano is the only one i can remember that actually worked on his game and made improvements.

Djarviks point is solid too, from a TS3 Veteran perspective... but I'm not one, so i cant really comment but i have noticed that Top players on TS3 may have left due to it being a bad game..

Trouble is, that a good chunk of Top players from TS3 didn't even give TS4 a chance after a month or two. The "Top" players you are referring too are formed after most TS3 top players left. So it is really not a fair comparison.

What is fair, is from our perspective, is the pure popularity and longevity - which is not there in TS4. That is rather clear.

When I say the game is bad, I don't mean there are no good points within the game, I rather mean it as a consensus, as the end result.

Its like being almost pregnant, sort of. All the good stuff about the game ultimately doesn't matter, as it is being killed by low pace non-risk pong like repetitive tennis.

I think the ultimate decision makers about the outcome of the game are the players, the ones that are loyal to the series and have been through each and every incarnation. I think it is safe to say that majority of this specific crowd is not happy with the game.

Throw in lower sales figures, the glitches, the tour that is in constant decline....

I think taking all factors into account, it is safe to say from where I sit, the game is bad. It is a letdown from previous installments. Again, not to say that it doesn't have its niche market - all games do - even the most horrendous.

Nothing like GST2 though

GST2 is THE only tennis game in the last 10 years that I do not own and the only tennis game I trade-in after 2 weeks.

TS4 compare to GST2 is godlike. Its the transition from TS 1-2-3 to 4 makes it a letdown. Everyone hoped for more....much more....

Al has all the answers and considering he is top dog his answers are the only 1s that matters.
Not even Spidey man or Banana man has a chance when it comes 2 Latviaman

Lol I would then say that ts3 was a bad game too.. People started leaving it as well.. Only 36-38 sign ups in last years Australian open. I still see many sign ups for ts4. I don't know from where did djarvik get the idea that people are leaving because ts4 is a bad game. Just because someone doesn't like ts4 doesn't mean that it is a bad game. I like ts4 much more than ts3 but I never say that ts3 is a bad game rather I would say ts3 was a nice game which had it's own attractions. Djarvik keeps thrashing the opinions of the members here but still he say that Dennie and I keep bitching lol

You realize TS3 was released in 2008 right? And you're talking about AO2011 right?Cause 40sign ups for a 3 year-old game sound pretty good to me.It's proof that this game had depth and the qualities to make it durable through these years.
FFS,TS4 has 40sign ups and it's been 1 year since it's release.

You think for AO2014, Top Spin 4 is going to have 36-38 sign ups? C'mon...

If anything, this proves the point even further. TS4 had a better start and dying faster then TS3.

Oh, and TS4 is a bad game.
