It is definitely not easily counterable. Try playing someone who is really good with it and is playing well, they become virtually untouchable. With other builds, even if the other player is on fire, I feel like I can compete if I up my game too. Against these players, you don't achieve anything by upping your game if they're on fire. They just hit lines with every bomb serve, first or second, and it's an ace or an easy put away to the open court.
The setup also has pretty good wings so if they're on, hitting them with 98 power, they won't miss and become unplayable in rallies too. If they're a good player and on top of their game, there really is nothing you can do but hope they drop off.
And yes, Fabada is a great player. I played against him without him using 98/98 and it was a really nice match, close one that I ended up winning. I think 98/98 is definitely a little too strong in the right hands and unlike other setups, it's unplayable if they get it going.
