Help!

Postby Jamie Cobarnew » Tue, 02 Oct 2012 23:27

Can any one let me know please!

When you make up a player on TS4...and you do it the quick way where you get the xps all in one etc. Is the player then complete of do you then have to play through the tournaments to gain more skills ie more xp's . Will this make a difference to the player when you go online to play.. if so, how do you get through the tournaments the quickest way as i'm getting bored every time i need to make a new player...it takes forever and i don't even know if it makes any difference at all

Thank you

After you finished your player, you're supposed to choose a coach.
Coaches guarantee you a couple of skills, but to get them, you have to achieve some specific goals.

For example, if you choose Gallo as coach, one of these goals is to hit a certain number of winner with power shots, or hit a certain number of balls by forehand.
If you choose Rabari, you'll have to win 5 matches, if you choose Quah you'll have to hit a certain number of balls close to the lines, and so on.

Every coach requires to achieve 4 goals in order to guarantee you that couple of extra-skills I was talking about before.
You can get them also playing tournament by yourself, there's no necessary need to get them playing online, also because the status of your player is still "incomplete".

PS By the way, if you want to play ITST Tour you cannot have coaches with "Monster Defence" and "Smell of Blood" in their skills (Samala, Quah, Welch, and Golakov if I'm not wrong).

You can fulfil coach objectives in any game mode; Online, career mode, friendly, there's no difference. For example, if you still need to win a couple of matches, just set up a friendly match against the CPU and choose 1 set tie-break or so. IMO the fastest way to breeze through career mode (to unlock achievements) is to put 20 points into offensive baseline and choose Babb as a trainer. Even on Expert you will earn plenty of free points on serve alone.

I find it kinda amusing that the game grants you 50k Exp for your premade char but you only need a bit less than 18k to level up your player to 20, any Exp past that is useless.

BTW in Top Spin 3 you actually had to play through career mode in order to gain Exp every time you wanted to create a new player, there was no short cut (actually there was a bug that allowed you to max out your player in 5 minutes but it was fixed at one point, really clever...)

I strongly suggest downloading this tool

Once you have an idea what kind of player you're going to create, check out the coaches and their skills that will fit your playing style.Note that if a gold coach for example requires lesss than 15 Levels to unlock, the order of putting your points in the trees will become important. Yeah it's really confusing.
