Is S & V competitive???

Postby Daxter1975 » Mon, 09 Jul 2012 21:37

I ask, if Serve & Volley is playable at Topspin???

Facts:
- If i skill S&V i can not Skill Stamina (WHY??????), Power, FH, BH
- it´s easy to Lob a Player at the Net
- short Returns are hard to play
- it´s unbelievable hard to win a Break without FH, BH
- in the 2nd Set, the Stamina is down and it´s not more possible to win against good players
- under 80% Volley, it´s hard to kill the ball

I am right? Or what is a Setup to play S&V and which Strategy i must play???

Or is S&V really uncompetitive???

you are right.

S&V is hard to master. The main problem with s&v players are they dont have that good forhand and backhand attributes. So its much harder to win breakpoints. Thats why i think you dont need S&V cause you can use the power settings and do points by just serve and finish with the second shot. You can also use perfect drop shots volley without having a high volley attribute. S&V is not that strong compare to reality and power settings in TS4.

You're best off using a coach like alex bickham if you're really into volleying.

I agree i use bickham too as he gives you good wings speed and good volley stats and volley skill but if you feel you need some power grody is a good option also as you get disel hard hitter and and volley shot artist i use this coach also as i like to attack the net alot myself but you need good strokes and power to compete

I agree grody is good as well I just think you get more versatility with bickham. I'm a big fan of the reflex too.

but how to do you cope with the high strokes plus power players because their power takes time away from u and you get overpowered whereas with grody most off the time u can step say 2m behind the baseline and redirect the power back with flat or control flat shots as diesel hard hitter increases the time window on flat shots

Even though my style is serve and volley, I like to keep my player closer to an all-rounder because of all of the reasons you listed.
