Positioning

Hey

To what extent does positioning affect the quality of the shot? By positioning I mean where you are standing when you hit the ball.

I've never paid much attention to positioning tending to more concentrate on getting to the ball and getting perfect timing. In WT this against 90% of players is enough to win but with matches on here even perfect timing isn't enough.
