Control Shots and Cross-Court-Battles

Postby o Sinna o » Sat, 28 Jan 2012 04:53

Just played a best of three with Painted Craystal and made no single Game but that's ok, because I didn't felt that I don't had a Chance when it comes to the Controls anymore, like in the Past short after Release, even if I clearly lost of course.

But what I noticed was that the main Focus of her strength lay in her Crosscourt Qualities.

Of course she knows absolutely what she is doing and why, but the Priniciple of that Method was so simple that a Chimpanzee could understand it.

She drove me so long of court in those Crosscourtbattles until she had enough Room for the Longlinewinner.

I got totally destroyed by this simple Principle and she hit a few other nice shots also of course. (hehe)

But what I am asking myself is, is that simple Principle all you have to master in this Game to be a successful Player in the ITST?

And how important are the Control Shots really compared to the Powershots in those Crosscourtbattles?

Is this what it's all about? The glorious Depth of Top Spin 4? ^^

Thats one of 3 to was to play TS4.

1. Control Shots = defensive baseliners.

2.Power shots = Power players usually 90+ power.

3. Serve and Volley.

Yep Loki I know my Friend.

And of course these Shots require Skill, cause if they wouldn't I wouldn't lose against almost everybody who is still online now ten months after the Release.

I would guess that almost 90 % of the active Top Spin 4 Players which you face online now are active since many months or the Release and of course they are hard to beat then.

But this Principle was so simple and effective at the same time.

And I am looking forward to play this Girl again. Only against the better Players you learn how to play the Game more effective.

Thanks for that Crystal.

I'm one of the worst TS4 players haha. I could hold my own with the best on TS3 but not on this game. I played a fed nadal match against a guy i used to have great games with on ts3 but never lost to last night, i lost 4-6 2-6 6-2 6-7, and it took just about the best set of video game tennis i've ever played to win that 3rd set.

Yeah you have to see it always this way. Even the best here can only use the Gameplaypossibilites which are given to us with this Game, because nobody of the fair Players cheats when it comes to the Gameplaymechanics. Anyway I hope so because otherwise it woulnd't be a fair Competition. *lol*

Means every Stroke a great Player like Norberto H or Loki or whatever can hit, I and you could hit theoretical also.

And the Art/Skill is to evolve a Knowledge or Comprehension how to hit those deciding Strokes like the best also.

Means the theoretical Principle to become one of the best is easy, but you need alot of practice to reach this Gameplaypoint of course and that's not easy or better said more difficult than it may seem at first.

All you have to learn with every Game is a Comprehension for the Gameplay-Mechanics. No matter if it's Counter Strike, Starcraft 2 or even Top Spin 4.

well thats the thing. TOMO was all-time dominant on ts3 not only due to a kinda helpful lag (controversial) but he knew the mechanics of the game inside out. Whether he knew how to play actual tennis or not is anoter story, but he was a gamer and he decided to pick apart ts3.
