But earlier you said this:

So you feel that we should be making the top coaches weaker as opposed to powering up the weaker coaches to compete with the stronger ones.

What I do feel though is that there are a lot of nice or fun looking coaches out there that maybe aren't as competitive but would be good to see appearing from time to time. I think one thing 2K did that wasn't very smart was to put more bonus attributes in some gold coaches and less in others. I don't see the point of this (unless a coach had a particularly good set of skills to balance lower stats) as it instantly gives some coaches an advantage over others. Maybe they could try and make as many of the coaches have equal bonus attributes as possible so some of the interesting coaches could be more viable.

Once again...have you considered both? ...do you not know a middle ground?

Is making a weaker coach a bit stronger automatically overpowers him in your book?

It's either black or white ah? ...other shades are futile.

And if you think about it, and re-read your quoted text in context with other posts including mine.... you will see what I mean. The idea is not to level the game by reducing a stronger coach, but the idea is to LEVEL the game, bringing really weak coaches a bit up and really strong ones a bit down.

Please, don't try to "catch" me contradicting myself, just discuss the topic.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

And if you read the end of my last post, you'll see that I have suggested a possible starting point for this solution. One good starting point of trying to balance the coaches is to give them the same number of bonus attributes so no one coach has an advantage in that area (so maybe like +40 for every gold coach). This won't solve all problems, some will obviously still be stronger because of their superior skills but it's a quick and easy solution to partly balancing things out. It'll definitely make the stronger builds (which usually have the highest bonus attributes) a bit less so and upgrade the weaker builds so that they might be more competitive.

I get the feeling that the game is not supposed to have completely balanced coaches as some of them (many +50 ones) only appear, if certain conditions are met. I find it kind of strange, that the strongest one appears so easily though, while the others need special combinations of the 3 play styles.

I guess it's mainly the programmers fault that the game is not as balanced as many people on this board would like it to be. If they wanted to, they would have done what tiger suggested and provided all gold coaches with similar amounts of points. Maybe they felt, that balancing all these combinations perfectly was too hard and simply settled for only a few, forgetting the uber one along the way....

I think it was that guy 'ItaStallion' that explained it to you all the best....compare TS games to fighting games like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Among hardcore fans of those games there exists something called 'tier lists', groupings of characters based on their relative strength as proven by master players in tournament/competitive play. Basically there's top-tier characters, mid-tier characters, and low-tier characters and everybody accepts this, nobody thinks Vega should get a fireball or Chun Li should be given teleportation or some BS...well anyways if you want something that actually goes somewhere just read the post I mentioned if you can find it.
