Save Error on PS3

After finishing a game, on some occassions my game freezes during the saving progress (when the statistics screen is still up) and the small circle signalling that saving is in progress stops spinning and at this point the only way to get out of this mess is to eject the disc or switch off the console, not even the PS3 button works anymore. Interestingly, coach progress is saved while any career game progress after the most recent save is lost (I hate auto-save so this can be a real nuisance). This has also happened in WT mode but W-L records were still awarded correctly. Still, you need to start the whole game again which is annoying enough alone.

Anyone else who's had this problem?

It never happened to me, but I often got some WT matches lost by disconnection. It's similary, but actually there's a way to fix it.
You can create another PSN "support" account ad periodically save the data also in it, so you can recover them if necessary.
