ITST World Tour Rankings

Postby Sh0Case » Mon, 28 May 2012 21:58

I don't understand the rankings process.
On Xbox and PS3 I have noticed some players have gone down the rankings due to a loss of points, the most recent is Likos. He was #1 on PS3 with 8k+ points, why is he now on 6k+ points?

Ur best 18 performances of the last 52 weeks count for ranking. 4 grand slams, 8 masters, 6 other tourneys. So maybe likos won 53 weeks ago a tournament and now he didnt play or lost in the first round. Then he loses points.

The ITST (and ATP) ranking run for 52 weeks. This means the tournaments within this period can count towards his ranking. The way the ranking works has not really hurt anyone for a year though. All the tournaments played from the start of the tour would count towards someone's ranking as they automatically fell inside this 52 weeks period.

Recently though the tour has celebrated its 1 year anniversary. This means that at the moment players will have to defend their points.

For example: If you won Roland Garros last year and you do not participate this year you will loose 2000 points for your ranking.

This is pretty self explanatory i believe. For example, Likos recently lost 2000 points as he did not participate in this year's Rome and Madrid masters while he won them last year.

You can see this yourself by going to this link:

http://www.intertopspintour.net/index.p ... 4&gc=PSTS4

Compare his 2011 champions race breakdown with his 2012 entry ranking breakdown and it should become clear to you.

There are some additional slight variations due to the fact that we only played a half season last year due to the release date of the game. But i dont think it is really worth explaining as it will only be about a few hundred points for some players.

He sure did.

I was kinda hoping that any semi-serious tennis fan knows this. This is not a "first year" of the system. If you call yourself a tennis fan and don't know this system - shame on you, you lame. :D
