Competitive or Cheating??

Postby baseliner1 » Mon, 21 May 2012 15:34

Ok I have a question that might have been previously answered..and i missed it, if so just bring me up to date!

I have played this game awhile and consider myself pretty decent..
I've trained my players on all surfaces and i'm quite adept at which shots are necessary at what particular time, in other words i'm no novice.

i know the game in world tour keeps the matches competitive by pairing you against those of similar skill or level, but why does the game seem to INHIBIT your game to purposely make you lose, i can tell on some matches immediately when i'm going to lose, normal shots don't work or errors increase where you usually don't make any. I can deal with a player who is just to good and i can understand making the game competitive...but it seems to inhibit your play...is that really fair? or am i just being paranoid. Oh.. and if world tour is about pairing players to be competitive, why is it my level 4 gets paired with someone who's level 28?

1 more thing...Today i was playing 2k tour i was using Chang and had a match against Federer on Clay..Madrid to be exact, I won 1st set in a tie-breaker was up 2-1 40-15 in the second, the opponent seemingly disconnected, which i'm used too it happens alot on 2k...but then the game kicked me out of the topspin server so not only did i lose the 2points, but the win as well...WTH??? is this something that's a glitch or is this something that can be caused by a dis-connecting player?
Can i get a little light on these issues...thanks

That never happens to me in the 2k Open but many times in the World Tour. Maybe half of my losses are because of the lame netcode.

1st) I don't know your level, but your games against machine are not significative. A lot of players can beat all players of top spin 4 in expert without losing a game.

2nd) The game doesn't inhibit nothing to make you lose. Its just your feeling. Only the fackin lag can do that. I can be level 0 and the opponent can be level 42, no difference, at least that's my experience.

Disconnects happened to me on 2k as well. If the disconnect happens on your side you will lose the match but sometimes the opponent disconnects and you still only get 1 point.

I honestly don't know why the server disconnects so friggin often. It's highly annoying. I, like baseliner1, notice myself making a lot of errors on carpet as opposed to grass or clay. Also, the indoor courts play a lot like carpet to me. I enjoy the surfaces and their differences but some of the errors are sort of ridiculous in my opinion but it keeps the rallies down I suppose. Back to the server disconnects, I'm not sure why this is still a problem. I've waited nearly 20 minutes or longer in world to for the system to find an appropriate player to connect me with when the Quick Match room is full, plus I've also experience being up a set and a break and kicked out by server. This should have been fixed...I guess it's yet another glitch in the game.

I think that the explanation is the lag.
Every game requires a different timing as the connexion of your opponent is never the same of your previous opponent.

A perfect shot on a top connexion, can become a good shot on a laggy one.
I'm well placed to tell you that as I often loose when the connexion is laggy...
