Help with serve

Postby bobbyfunk » Sun, 10 Jul 2011 03:33

Bear with me here in my explanation here I am new to TS4 and the game of tennis in general:

I am wondering if I am missing something here. I was playing the World Tour and against two opponents in a row every single serve that I hit they hit right back down the line on the opposite side of the court! Every serve they were able to return it this way! 90% of their points came off of them doing this and then me flailing at it and them punch down the line on the other side. My question is, how in the world do you do this and how do you stop it? I tried every serve type and tried serving to every spot imaginable but nothing worked. Any help would be appreciated.

hmm if they have such a great timing, maybe your last option is to stand closer to the middle of the court when you serve, so there's no "opposite side"

try returning down the middle and deep to reduce your opponents angles.

Okay thanks. I'll try middle deep. I was standing close to the middle most of the time but their return down the line was so precise everytime there was no way I could get there in time to hit a good shot.

ya, middle deep cuts down their angles and helps you get into a good position.

I think I might have played you in world tour, but I don't remember how you play. If the opponent is hitting return winners, try hitting slice and topspin serves. If your serve isn't good, spin serves are a great way to stop the opponent from attacking.

Yes we did play in World Tour. I am currently alternating between play styles, I believe when I played you I used a baseline guy but I mainly use guys that are S&V.

The guys I use have speed that ranges from 63 up to 86.
