Line Calls

Postby Vieira151 » Thu, 19 May 2011 03:45

Is it just me, or are the line calls terrible?

The last few games I've played, a lot of my opponents first serves have been called out, when they were clearly in. And to prove it, the matches were on clay, and the ball usually left a mark where it bounced.

I notice this in every match I play. There are always balls that clearly hit the lines and there are always called out. Bit ridiculous in my opinion

Lol Viera i have mentioned this before on here , the line calls are laughable at best, i played a match with corrbuster yesterday which went to 3 sets and so many of the serves , and so called "winners" were clearly out surely the opponent must see this too? The worse part is when the game suddenly decides to stop your ability to even stretch for a ball and applause goes out

I think the most ridiculous one was in a match I played today. My opponent's first serve was called out but it was the first point of the match so there was only one mark and it was at least half a foot inside the sideline. Again on clay which lets you see exactly where the ball landed. I thought it was pretty funny though how in it actually was. :P

I've noticed this mainly on serves.

Also saw one land past the baseline which somehow was called a game winner against me. That stung a little inside.

Yeah the serve line calls are a disaster sometimes. On clay you can see it was a clean ace right on the line but it was called out. Very frustrating.

I think it has something to do with the first player ballancing update. When you serve with the stick, you now cant go with full power for the lines. A button serve never get a wrong call.

Why not,i mean it's used in real tennis so what would be the harm in using it....SMT 3 uses it and it adds a nice dynamic to that game.

There's so many reasons....

1st and foremost, the CPU would have to dumb itself down and actually call balls out ON PURPOSE...can you imagine playing a ranked match, you've already used up all your challenges, and your opponent hits a 'winner' to win the match, but it was actually like 5 feet long past the baseline?? And you have no challenges left?

Yeah why don't we just put bathroom breaks and muscle cramps and on-court vomiting into the game, too...

And whenever the on-court thermometer reaches 35 degrees celsius, you have a 10% chance of suffering heat stroke which causes you to automatically forfeit the match. For every 10+ stroke rally you play in that heat, you gain an additional 1% chance and every degree thereafter that it climbs, you gain an additional 3% chance. :D
