Grand Slam achievement - so close yet so far :(

So after somehow muscling through three rounds of TI/MD opponents, I was placed in the final with some guy using Topspin Invasion/Poison Slices. Got murdered. Every point me out wide even on my hardest serves, then use the stutter glitch to always hit the open court. It makes me want to cry @_@

In other news, any tips for playing against the Poison Slices? I noticed those tend to go deep.

Sorry to hear that , In the minors I often find players with regular set ups , but Masters and GRand slams it is always TS>MD set ups , it sucks , but congratulations getting trough 3 of those guys.

About poisoned slices I would just try doing the same thing I do with regular slices ,hit control shots not to give them pace to feed off but with the TS I trait it will just allow them to hit angles .

Did you try bringing them to the net with a short slice or drop shot and then moving in to volley the slice? I don't know , sadly I have never goten to a GS final.

I tried a few drop shots but those didn't work. He'd just run in and use a full powered topspin shot to somehow hit a winner on a low bounce next to the net.
I haven't tried the short slices, so Il'l give that a go if I ever play against poisoned slices again.

I tend to use control shot since I have a shot counter/return counter player.

Or maybe he was at least 30% better skill level than than the 3 TI/MD players and the last guy was as good as him or a little better? just because someone can make a TI/MD character doesn't mean they are good , it also doesn't mean it is balanced.

Beating someone with a TI/MD using any other spec is the equivalent of me going to play with a wooden racket to the public courts , yeah I may be able to beat people that are using modern rackets if I really try , it doesn't mean it is balanced tough.
