Autoswing on serve returns

Postby Wrathchild tw » Sun, 27 Mar 2011 14:16

Has anyone else had issues with most returns being "Autoswing" on the timing? Even if I do a precision swing with good timing, on strong serves it still registers as "Autoswing". My return is a slow floater right at the server and my player is stunned off balance for a moment.

Is this an intentional game mechanic or something else going on?

I was wondering about this too... on one of my direct matches, my opponent simply wasn't there so I just hit return winners and aces the entire time (although I forgot to hit inside out shots so I could finish my coaching challenge!! :stupd but that's another story)

Anywho, when I would power serve into the other player's body, his character would automatically hit a return back even though he wasn't playing... so yeah there are automatic return swings but I'm hoping they don't override your own input for shot selection...

its only auto swing if your timing is way way late.

Normally that is correct, but on hard serves it isn't. I've had autoswing happen when I tapped the button early or very close to perfect timing. I think it may be something to do with jamming your opponent by firing at their body also?

Im not trying to sound mean, but how do you know if you have perfect timing if you did an autoswing?

It easy to tell the difference between a really late swing and a well timed one.

Although I did say very close to perfect, not perfect timing. But after it happened five serves in a row I started pressing earlier and earlier and it kept happening.
