Sun affects visiblity???

Postby Yepega » Sat, 26 Mar 2011 11:22

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, or if I am just seeing things, but when I was playing the Cincinnati Masters it was harder to see the ball when I was on the side of the court that has the referee box to the right. When it changed sides I could totally see the difference in visibility. Can anybody confirm this? Is this a feature implemented to add more realism to the game since real tennis players' visibility is sometimes affected by the sun shining on their face? I have not noticed this anywhere else but at this tournament

I can confirm that. I was playing a tournament on the world tour and had to sit closer to my tv to actually be able to see the ball. Very annoying court.

The Miami tournament, on one side the wall is real bright like a reflection from the sun, then when you switch sides it's much better. I've always wondered if this was meant like that.

This is exactly what I encountered a few hours ago in quite a close match. Sony Ericsson Open, in Miami. The bad thing about this was that I could not for the life of me, follow there the ball was until it was within sight, totally messed up my position and timing on a return. :?
