played my 1st round against falzon today!!
i had djokovic , and he had roddick!!
long match, 1h03, but really strange one!!

1st thing is because im in france and him in australia, it was laggy all the match!!!
2nd thing which surprised me, is that he plays with roddick, but i had impression my opponent was Chang!! :D
He serves very slow serves during all the match, and with the lag, i found roddick was really quick!!

So it was interesting by the way but really not easy!!

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

1st Round match

Postby Neso007 » Mon, 06 Jun 2011 21:14

I´ve played with Nadal against Q-Spin who had Agassi. I won by 6:1 6:1

He had troubles with adopting to new Update i think because he made a lot of errors (21 )

I played this guy last night and he did the same thing, intentionally since the slow serve is harder to handle. It's one thing to do it with a created pro, but to do that w/ Rod is just plain dumb. Report him to the host to make him stop using this cheesy tactic.

Just finished my second round match vs RAE1980 - he was Nadal, I was Sampras.

In the first set, I won rather easily. I think the update was really paying off for me, since it was easier to serve and volley, and tougher for him to use Nadal's angles. I got one break, and was able to ride my serve to take the set 6-3.

Second set, things got very tricky. The update started to work against me, because Sampras was getting tired very quickly in rallies, and it was affecting my serve games a bit as well. I had to really start to look for ways to shorten the rallies, otherwise I was going to have nothing left near the end - I was thinking I should just completely giving away return games, and then make a big push in the tiebreak. Then suddenly, RAE broke me - at love. So much for my game plan of waiting until the tiebreak. I really thought it was over; he was going to take that set, and I'd be exhausted in the third. But somehow I managed to break back, and started to find my timing on my serves, giving me some much needed aces to save my energy. We got to a tiebreak, and I managed to get one or two mini-breaks, and win all my points on my serve. I closed the match out with my 15th ace.

Stats:

Sampras ---------------------------- Nadal
74 ------------ 1st Serve % ---------- 67
75 ------ Win % on 1st Serve ------ 63
89 --- Win % on Second Serve --- 58
15 ---------------- Aces --------------- 1
0 ------------ Double Faults --------- 1
62 -------------- Winners ------------ 50
1 ------------ Unforced Errors ------- 6
2/3 -------- Break Points Won ----- 1/2
43/56 ------ Net Points Won ------- 1/2
71 --------- Total Points Won ------- 54

Lost vs india-skro 2-6 1-6. Me Rafter, him Courier.

First time I played since the update, and actually the first time in a while overall. I just don't play enough to compete with the regular players. Still it never have felt better to hit some errors :D

S&V was nice, but it only worked when executed perfectly. Timing/placement off on serve or timing off on 1st volley and the initiative was gone. Felt also pretty useless from the baseline. Missing some approach shots (timing too soon) despite being an approach shot expert.

Overall tougher now, but more enjoyable.

Just lose with my Djokovic against Indiantonike's Murray 6/4 4/6 3/6, that was epic match for sure ! Many breaks, rallies, and very tactical match, in my point of view, indeed ><

I don't have time to describe the match in depth, I'll do it later by editing this post and maybe indian will gave his opinion, but we play one hour of good tennis (even if our players were out of stamina after just two or three games, so it became more and more difficult to shorten the rallies with a good winner), and I hope to have huge matches like this one in the future on ITST !

Good game man, you're a tough opponnent !

Had a good match today w/ Bydox. I was Blake and he was Agassi. Lost 6-4, 6-4. I fell behind 4-1 in the first but was able to get it to 5-4 and make him serve the set out. I think I may have had a BP but had a few UEs that cost me the set.

2nd set was also tight. He got the first break for 4-3 but I broke back to 4-4. I played a terrible service game and gifted the break at 5-4, and he was able to close it out pretty easily on his serve.

All in all a solid match. Still a few niggling gripes w/ the game, mainly the effectiveness of the slice vs other shots, and still being able to hit some shots even w/ bad positioning - I hit some as well that probably should've been errors, so it goes both ways. But some fun rallies and good play from both of us. I tried to play my usual net style at times, but it was tougher w/ Blake's low volley. I think I was 22/26 at the net, but that's not counting all the times I got caught and lobbed.

Indeed. Hopefully you're able to do Blake more proud than I am. :)

Seems like since the patch, the pro matches are better, and the custom matches are..... well, it's still debatable.
