One thing I'd like to see is a tweaking of the situation at the net. Like I think RobITST has suggested before: make it easier to pass, but harder to cause the player at the net to play a low volley. Tired of attacking the net and having to play 6+ low volleys in a row... likewise when I then have to do the same thing to my opponent when he comes to the net!

Makes me irritated! Grrrr.. :D
I used to think I was indecisive... but now I'm not so sure.

That opponent must have been me. :P It was frustrating to attack at the net against you, too. You won 26 out of 55 net points and me 17 out of 49, so it wasn't that unrealistic regarding the stats, but I agree with you and Rob on that topic. Even if you or me were on the run to reach the volley: We could usually dip it back lowly and make the opponent hit another difficult volley and so on - these shots on the run should be very difficult to pull off, but they aren't.

I don't want to see your name so soon after that match VMoe!

Lol, glad you realised I wasn't having a go at you. It was an enjoyable match regardless. :) We were both able to keep forcing each other to play those silly low volleys.

Looking back, I possibly made a tactical mistake at the end of the 2nd Set. Since you were leading 5-1, mybe I should have 'let' you serve out the set, so I could serve first in the 3rd and put pressure on you to hold serve. :P

Good match though. Look forward to playing you again sometime.

Thanks Djarvik... makes me feel a little better after failing yet again to win my first TS4 match! I'm struggling to get his Amazing First Volley to win me points at the net, and so i gradually go to net less and less out of frustration.

I'm a very lonely Fusman, lol. There's one person using him in BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy, ha ha.

Yeah, give it a few tournaments and I am sure once players are settled on their SIM characters they will be discussing strategies in their own threads. There are more then a few ways to play with each I think.

I like to come in off the slice on BH down the line the most. My second favorite approach shot is SSV. Fake the SV , take a step back and then approach.

Bottom line, Fusman is a server first. You must get that serve working otherwise you will be playing on DFB terms....and you don't have strokes for that, not enough to play on equal terms....you need to take charge in majority of points the first shot of the serve.

I also like to come in on a control flat cross. Works surprisingly well, but harder to time it deep.

No, no, no. He's all about "taking it deep".

Still a slut, but of a different nature.

Postby Okssanna » Sun, 20 Nov 2011 12:33

Hi Everyone
VT 2009 player for few years, just moved to TS4 as VT4 is so crap I can t play and then have fun.
Obviously TS4 is not the same that VT so it is going take time to be able to compete
but I already noticed that lob are not really managed properly so it is almotst imposiible to lob someone at the net
so any chance to improve this
Thanks

actually, the lob shot is to easy to execute the net player doesn't respond good on it.. gues you still have to learn how to do it.

The lobs are pathetic most of the time, they hardly ever land close to the baseline (in or out)
I 've had perfect lobs go out (wide)
Too often the net player smashes it or they turn around and get it before stepping back into the service box.
The lobs lack height too.
If you win a point with the lob it usually looks glitchy.
Definitely need to improve the lobs..

+1, when you go quite often at the net, you really feel that the player has no reaction when there's a lob that he cannot immediatly touch and need to move to get it. And great lobs are quite easy to hit, you can do it 10 times in a set and success with most of them, not really because there are good, but because at the net the player doesn't react great when there's a lob.

Are you serious ? "Too often" ?? You mean 1 smashed lob on 20 lobs is "often" in your mind ?

Lobs today are too easy to execute, they are simply always in, whatever the position of the player who hits them is.

The problem appeared with the last upgrade. Now a lot of my opponents play lobs on every points because that gave them free points. it became totally ridiculous, and cheesy.

If i go back to anticipate them, they play crossed shot... Because of that I struggle against average players who spam and spam "Y", and i have no more fun to play the game.

In fact, the last upgrade completely killed the s&v setup because of these lobs + the come back of cheated cross-angles.

Please make an update :
- make the lobs more difficult to put in to avoid cheesy players to spam lobs
- make the angles of short crossed shots less crazy as it was before.
