My crusade against TI/MD part 9375:

OK - patch is out, TI/MD still a problem of course. Haven't heard anything from 2K on this, and it's still what's killing online. The funny thing is someone earlier in this thread say we (anti TI/MD players) would rather the game be a game of pong - well guess what this game is now w/ TI/MD users? One big boring game of pong. Press one button, no strategy - correction, I think pong takes more strategy than using TI/MD to win matches.

Fix it, tweak it, whatever you have to do. The longer it takes the worse it gets w/ TI/MD on world tour.

And yes I tried the tips others said - tried mixing in S&V to no avail, tried hitting deep to the middle which did not work. Maybe it's just a personal problem for me and TI/MD is my kryponite. But no b/c I lose to other game styles, this is the ONLY one, and I mean ONLY one, that is completely unrealistically overpowered. Hitting lines every shot, perfect topspin, no errors. It's sickening.

And that's the end of my weekly TI/MD rant. :)

IR/MD is as overpowered than TI/MD for my part. When I play I can hit all my hit very perfectly very deep and on the line too.

But I have to agree I have more fun by playing a non-TI/MD match too ...

Had a nice test with dapery today!!

we first played a match witj ou rules test tournaments players!!
he s about 77fh 77bh 87power a s i remember!!!with shot counter and semi volley king if i remember well!!
my player was 81fh, 72 bh, 72power,

nice match, he won 6-2 in 19 minutes!!!
he s got more power than me, but i didnt see a big difference in this skill between our 2 players!!!
it was a really fun game!!

we played a 2nd set!
he kept same players and i use my ti/md player!!

i won 6-3 this time in 15 minutes!!

dapery is a really good player, one of the best actually, and with this, <e can see than even with his talent, and with a player 87 power, i can beat him with my ti/md!!!

just to show the huge difference between ti/md(and ir/md, which is the same for me) setup with others setup!!
and finally we both had more fun in 1st set we played!!!

It will continue Alex.. anyway I played a little today and noticed my TI/MD player couldn't get the old angles.. so there you go .. also I had 15 unforced errors.. which is some way up from 2/3 in the avg match before the break.

Oh and to all the 'anti-cheesers' :

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/news/ ... 19007.html

Monfils tests the clay
After being forced to withdraw midway through Madrid due to an allergic reaction to some cheese he had eaten then pull out of Rome suffering from a virus, Gaël Monfils was delighted to get some court-time under his belt at Roland Garros on Friday. The world no.9 and 2008 French Open semi-finalist immediately headed out to Philippe Chatrier and had a relaxed knock-up with his Australian coach Roger Rasheed.

Dont tell me it doesnt happen in real life.. see even Monfils complains about Cheese. ;)

Well ... Just try to read my mind ... :P

By the way, of course it's about how good you are... None of us told the contrary...

Nevertheless, the test lukkystef and Dapery did talks by itself...

Anyway thanks to some tips and to a lot of practice, I can win some matches against TI/MD... Still, this is painfull and very stressfull ...

I'm not going to handicap myself against other TI/MD players in world tour.
I am not a bad player and can do fine without it, but its no fun to lose against TI/MD and to know, that with the same setup I would have won the match easily. Thats why I'll continue to use it until it gets nerfed to hell. And I'm not going to justify myself for using it in the ITST world tour as long as there is no rule against it and other people use it too. PONG for the win!

Surely the game would be more fun without it as a whole, but as long as things are the way they are, I won't change a thing.
I'm eagerly expecting the SIM Tour though, at least there is a rule against it.

Guys,

Why not simply ask your opponent if he prefers a TSI/MD match or non-TSI/MD? (for ITST matches)

Have at least 2 players available: 1 - TSI/MD and 1 - any other setup.

Just inquire with your opponent what he prefers and take it from there.

I try to do it in my matches and I know a few old timers do as well.

I don't use TSI/MD however, regardless of what opponent answers. But I do have my stronger setups and more balanced ones.

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
