i mean, you guys are still just talking about problems related to ITST matches, which MUST ban coaches because they are STILL totally overpowered. the developers have KNOWN this for months, and even after an update, have still managed to NOT fix the situation.

this is a game outside of ITST, and that's where a TON of problems lay in the mechanics/physics of the game...

The speed thing's a tough one- when I compare that DB I played you with to my OB, i definitely notice a difference in speed/responsiveness. As has been said some of the top players are doing serious damage with DBs, and if they beef up speed even more, everyone'll just use them instead...

I know offline that my DB reacts much faster, but online it seems to be that I can no longer reach for a shot should i take one step away from it.

I do it all the time offline, seldom get wrong footed.

Also, if online the DB feels MORE responsive, it will only be slightly no?
What use is having someone slightly more responsive, but lacking in the crucial attribute of power to actually win a point?
There should be a differentiation between the speeds so that should you hit consecutive control shots and tire your power opponent out, that their shots lose accuracy and they can't cover the court more?

Stamina and Speed < Power

That's not right and needs to be balanced so that 90 speed has the same level of effectiveness as 90 power does.
Blood in my mouth beats blood on the ground.

I'm not sure they should be equally effective -- I think in real tennis power is a bigger advantage than speed if all other things are equal.

Having said that, speed is definitely not as effective as it should be in TS4. I have a character with 90 speed, and although he IS faster than players with 50-60 speed, it just isn't that helpful because you still have to guess directions when you are playing someone with a ton of power...and if you guess wrong you are wrong footed and can't recover.

A character with really high speed should be able to start in the wrong direction and still get back over to the ball to put it in play basically every time if they are starting in a good position -- opponents should be able to put balls away cross court if they have a lot of power, but if you have a guy with a ton of speed standing in good position on the baseline, it should be very difficult to hit a winner against them. That's not the case right now, thus making a character with really high speed is basically putting yourself at a disadvantage.

I agree that speed needs to be a more important factor, I think pretty much everyone will admit that. But, if we're using pro tennis as a benchmark, then speed is not as much a weapon for the best players as power. I think the power game will and probably should always be the most effective if played correctly, even if they get the ratio of speed exactly right.

edit - beat me to it!

As it was said on other topics, you feel that a man who has 50 in speed runs as fast as a man with 90+ but it's false.

The difference is that with less power, your balls are less fast, so a man with 50 in speed can catch them...

A match between mens who plays each other with 50 speed and 90-100 power, will see a lot of winners and UE.

Try to face a top ITST player that uses a DB, you using IR/CPS, and after the game come back here to say what you think about speed. Good control angled shots really makes you feel the difference.

I´ve said this in another thread. I´m not a top player and I used to believe the same thing about speed until I had a game like this one. I had problems to reach every single ball the other one was throwing, making my IR/CPS do not exist.

I´m not sure about this problem, so I´d like to read more opinions from all.

I agree with you Perfect Ace, I made the same experience.

The players who really can do these perfect angled shots can completly neutralize an IR/CPS-guy.
