game overal looks good only worry so far is the slice shot i hope he was playing a demo version and they fixed that.

hopefuly this game will be as active as VT3 that is by far the most active tennis game , even right now its more active then TS2 and TS3 combined

A Game like Virtua Tennis 3 is easy to pick and play, that's why the most noobs plays it. The Advantage from VT3 was also the 4 Console Online Doubles. 2K is telling us that they were not able to implement it because of Lag. That's a lil bit weak if you ask me but I guess they know what they are talking about.

But seriously Guys. They can't be so dumb and ruin the Game with such a Slice or? There are a few weeks until the Release and it's enough time to fix this issue. A Slice is used to take out the Speed of the Ralleys and to position yourself good again but not to hit the hardest winners. Everybody who knows a lil bit about Tennis knows that.

The most fun I ever had playing ts3 = one other person who understood the game, and 2 beginners evenly matched. Doubles plays exactly like it should offline.
I've only played twice (?) online but I can imagine it'd be quite difficult to adjust if you weren't familiar with the lag problems at net.

not necessarily, once you get into VT3 it becomes quite good and enjoyable and it has some realistic elements. Alot of members here trash it because it's so arcade. but ones you really get into it play against the good players it's not as bad as it may look at first. I've achieved top 50 on the online ranking there and to me its a bigger accomplishment then anything i achieved on TS eventhough that's nothing spectacular

Yeah I know the Game. I played it too but it just doesn't have the depth Top Spin has. But it's like a lot of things a matter of taste.

But let's talk about the TS4 Slice. What do you think Guys? Does it look more worse than it is and because the Previewer was a Positioningnoob or is the Slice really to fast? I mean in this Video it really looked to fast. hm?

Yeah the slice winners made me go "huh". Maybe once you put more action, depth, and precision on your shots then the effectiveness of the sliced shots, from your opponent, greatly reduces. We'll have to wait and see.

Haven't the slice been overpowered in all top spin games? The curved slice in TS1 and the wierd one in TS2? Maybe not so much in TS3, but there have been alot of players online playing a loose short slice that is hard for some to counter.

the slice did look fast and powerful indeed. What is surprising is the speed of flat strokes... they are slow. The guy was usin Agassi, supposed to be an offensive baseliner with a big forehand and you can see that even when he hit with perfect timing the ball doesnt go very fast... lets say it is even slower than in ts3 without using risk shots... ?!?
and now when you see this powerful slice!
oh and hum... the AI seems to suck big time, unless he was playing on easy, the character was barely moving and the strategy seemed odd... did you ever see djokovic doing a "power slice" forehand in the middle of the court when he had all the time to hit it with a full swing?
As far as doubles goes... it may be fun with 4 humans. Again the AI is a joke and i can already see myself insulting my cpu partner for insane behaviors. Yeah, what about going outside the court and wait to see if the ball is going to hit the bench? (4th video, at 1:51)
Lots of other things look very good in this sequel but it almost looks like they omit or f***ed up huge things on purpose. Now we know we'll get a Top Spin 5 in less than 2 years.

I don't know. In the Agassi - Djokovic vid around 3.30 and forward there are some Agassi flat shots that look pretty fast. I think they look good.

EDIT: And also, we don't know if he is fully charging the shots that look slow.

He is not fully charging guys. Why? ...because now if you overcharge you will hit an out. So you need to charge just enough to get close to the line but not to over hit.

Nothing wrong with an offensive slice done from an offensive position. I would worry if I would see a risk slice on the run or anything like that.

Here is an example of offensive slice from offensive position:

I agree, that slice is scary. Hope its edited before final release or a patch will definetely be required, or each match will be a fully charged slice fest

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Yes Djarvik I saw it but this is real Tennis and looks real ofcourse but the Slices we saw in this Top Spin 4 Agassi against Djokovic Video looks a lil bit unreal compared to the normal A Button Strokes.

But hey, I really can't imagine that they ruined the Game with such a simple Stroke like the Slice. I mean these Guys from 2K tested the Game I guess and these Guys also knowing how real tenins looks like.

Otherwise it would be more unprofessionell than Arjen Robben shooting a penalty besides a empty Goal. Seriously I expected a lot from these 2K Team and many aspects of the Game look great. We'll see.
