Has to be said , its great they got rid of those stupid powehouse slice winners , i find now that the slice isnt really that effective now unless its used as deep control slice

i never really got the whole "Glitch Return" thing but man... i'm hittin' a ton of them, i don't know what i'm doing. returning as normal, usually get a good or perfect but it's pushin the opponent way back. Surely the update hasn't made this worse? But i actually think it's to do with how and what serve the opponent chooses and not what button or whatever your using to return? I'm also getting pushed back more often in a rally, like, i'm waiting on a slow ball coming so plenty time for a power charge but my player starts skipping backwards, delaying the hit and then i gawd damn mis-time the fekker lol... so strange but funny.

kept my 0/15/5 Sahay Rabari IR/CPS, having some really pleasing results, although they mostly tend to be a power shot game with long rallies and a case of who hits a UE first, drop shots and slice are completely usleless with this setup (for me anyway), i only miss the defensive slice when on the run but actually a control top spin is working out for that now.

Made up a 0/2/18 Drew Welch DSA/SOB, this player can RUN.... and hit wicked angles, even with power shots, was really surprised with this setup. played great and more than held my own against a few power players. I hit maybe 1 drop shot a match, only because i'm so bad at them and lose the point even with this skill but the rest is all really good.

I'm still a hit and miss with serve and volleyers, i've never win against some guy called Ozzomo or somthing from Japan, that guy has it nailed perfectly, but we all can't play like the Djocker. Most of my matches are playing really fast now, just a few that still go slow and a bit buggy but i think that's down to the hosts connection. Actually quite satisfied with the update, sure, it does take some time to get used to but it's worth it.

Man, OBs on the whole have probably been weakened by the patch, but on the basis of a match tonight I can't see 98 power builds disappearing any time soon. If they've got one strong wing then unless they hit it right at you it's so much harder than it was to get into a good enough position to make them run and punish their low speed. Really really tough going.

It seems to happen to me when I try to hit deep top spin returns -- every once in a while it will do one of those glitch returns and force the person way back. I have no idea why it happens, because I do the exact same thing I do on other returns where it doesn't happen.

The second thing you said though -- that drives me CRAZY. Short, slow ball and the game refuses to let me come forward and hit it; it forces me backwards and makes me wait for it to come all the way down behind the baseline.

Well I don't really like change, especially when I feel that I'm just getting the hang of how to play properly, so that explained my initial knee-jerk reaction post to this new update :P
After playing a good few matches since with the update I have to say that I do like it now. The matches seem to play at a quicker pace which is much good and I seem to be serving better (though against WT opposition which probably isn't the biggest test). It's funny how so few people are willing to dropshot now. It seems so hard to pull off unless you have the dropshot as a skill. I like it though. People playing excessive dropshots was so unrealistic.

My biggest concern is that because of the new returning system, return big servers like 94+ power-serve will get hard as hell, because people who played against this kinda setups know you gotta press the button really quick to get a good-perfect timing return and if the server mix a lot of kick and slice serves a lot of returns will be too soons or too lates.

Great, it should be really difficult to return a serve like this, as it is in real life (Isner, Karlovic etc.).

I'm really liking the patch. I was really displeased with the previous one, but now since they brought a little faster pace back and a better chance of hitting winners (when you should be able to), I'm happy as can be... :D

I had just got the point where I felt pretty damn comfortable with the previous patch

To be blunt I don't really like the new patch so far, it just seems like...more of a pain in the ass to do everything. I dunno, I don't feel like writing some huge review of it but so far I just don't like it...maybe I'll get used to it. I do like that returns are weaker.

I like it overall. its subtle but good. I actually find passing shots a tiny bit easier now, especially precision ones. And ive hit more aces with federer in the last week than i have in the last month.

i played rocketsfall last nite on the sim tour and trying to pass him was a nightmare. yea if you have to orange wings precision based passing shots are easier but since i was using fortis passing him was difficult

Very welcomed news :D

For me the main issues were speed + stamina and the drop shot, therefore if these are fixed or at least improved then I am "happy as larry".

Djarvik, Cro, Slicer etc - good job as always for working with 2k on this, I think the changes listed on page 1 of this thread could really take the new SIM tour to even greater heights (and its a great initial roster and tour already)

I like the update overall, altough I think slice is a little too weak now, I can deal with it but I'm amazed by how weak especially power slice goes now. The other thing is that powerplayers can still hit anything flat without making mistakes, and also pretty hard to return, making it very hard to beat a high skilled power player.
