TS4 servers : GAME OVER

Following the topic I created yesterday about 2KSports servers down, a friend of mine gave today a phonecall to 2K French hotline...

... and the worse has happened : a guy explained to him that TS4 servers are definitively down and won't be back. So WT and 2K Open are over, and the only way to play online games will be without 2K updates.

2K is decided to kill TS4, no more complicated than this...

Unfortunately yes, its seems to be "really" real, dude...

Another guy said on an other topic he phoned US 2K hotline and had not clear information. But a friend of mine (obezpyer, who's an ITST player too) phoned French 2K hotline - we both are French, like you, Chris - and a technician confirmed the bad news we expected to receive : TS4 servers are definitely down. No more WT, no more 2K and online game only without the 2 updates 2K inlcuded in 2011 to make the game more reallistic and prevent cheated shots...

And the worse is that there are no good news about TS5. A friend of mine is the game producer and he told me video games industry rules don't allow him to give me any clue about TS5. But he also told me that "if there is one day a TS5..., etc, etc...", which means that we can doubt that a new version of TS will come out one day...

this sucks so now what??? do we have to wait till topspin 5 ??? lol 2k open and world tour are done well at least we can still infact play online (player match) so its not all that bad

What's really sad is that the world tour for topspin 3 still works, I checked for myself earlier. So they made a specific choice to shut down the topspin 4 server.

:( completly agree sebastianhu, is it so much work to keep the servers just open?!!
Unfortunatly Rock Gamer it is not that simple, even if we can play online player match vs friends, we'll do it without updates as Pepe Bradock said! and it is so much diferent and cheesy to play without patches...short slice are almost like dropshot, short crossed are even more crossed, power shot are much more precise, volley drop shot are just too good...etc etc so it's no fair or real at all:(
I "dont care" about WT and 2K, but just let the patches!

Ohhh and Pepe, what is this other bad news?!! no TS5? wtf??! Try tobuy some drinks to your friend, maybe he'll say all what he knows once he'll be drunk!!;)haha

Anyway, for all of you who are searching for an alternative, think about Tennis Elbow. 2 years old tour and still growing with a high competitive field of players

@Rock Gamer --> to play TE it's quite simple :

1) You can try the demo without ITST mod on http://www.managames.com : you won't have access to the real courts, animations, outfits, grunts and stats of the real players like Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, Tsonga, etc.
Globaly speaking, the graphisms are also not optimized (basic menu, scoreboard etc).

2) You buy the game on managames (19 euros I think), you install the ITST mod and you enter in an other dimension of Tennis
Just to give an idea : in 2012 the TE tour counted 95 players ranked at the race. In 2013 we'll finish at 300 ranked players. What is fun is that you have access to the livescore of any matches played through the lobby of the game. So when you have big matches everyone is commentating the evolution of the scores on the chat, having debates about tennis or other stuff

But warning : the game at beginning is so different than TS4 that it requires an investment in time to figure out how it works. I advise to play with the helpers activated at beginning to really understand how to hit strong shots from baseline and service, because it's not that logical when you start the game.

Once you know playing a bit, just sign in the challengers tournaments which are dedicated to beginners. All the recent slam winners started with challengers, the best example is Richie who is n°1 with 2 slams in the pocket whereas one year ago he just started the game

That is hilarious. Of course no one's on there but still...

Support for TS4 has been abysmal, only one official patch (and apparently a secret one), no fixes, not even one DLC. Any words on TS5 anyway? Won't be buying a PS4 this year anyway because the currently available games don't interest me.
