TS4 ... Playing it PREPATCH !!

hey everyone , i play only the MS tour . so what i will say next is only related to the MS .

i have noticed from matches i have played recently that some guys try intentionally to break the patch and play the game in the prepatch mode, which suits more their power game, by doing the following :

they avoid going to the world tour , instead they tell you "i will go to the 2K OPEN and you invite me" . so that took my attention because after they went to the 2k open , the match was played in a so fast conditions( prepatch) , power shots with average wings paint the side lines easily when being hit crosscourt , average serve stat (70) hits aces easily too .
so to make sure , i tried that again with a friend of mine to make sure it was not a coincedence and yeah it played again prepatch after going to 2K OPEN & then invite .
unfortunately , when you ask someone to go to the World Tour , he might go only to the main page of WT without logging in , it will show " this guy is playing the world tour " so you cant make sure if he did go inside or not since the display status in PSN will be the same .

last question . what is the most guaranteed way to prevent the prepatch . for myself i go inside wt and then i log out and go to play some balls in the practice ground . IS THERE A BETTER WAY ??

2k open is best.. Cuz like you said psn status show "playing 2k open" only when you enter it by logging in.. On the other hand psn will say "playing world tour" with just going to the world tour page even without logging in.. Playing some balls is the same as world tour because you can be in practice ground without connecting to patch.. So 2k open is the only way to ensure that you are connected to patch.. And there is no such thing that if you enter 2k open then match will be played in faster condition with you being pre patched.. It does happen sometime that ball is faster but that is due to connection between two opponents, not because of one.. The only way to check if you are pre patch is to do a power button serve.. If you're prep patched then game will freeze.. And once you have entered 2k open game never freezes on button serve which makes 2k open the only way to connect to patch

thanks for your opinion mate , but i dont agree with you . the thing is when you use a button serve and the game freeze indicates your opponent is glitching or there is a bug .but doesnt indicate if it is prepatched or not .
the condition after both connected to the patch will be slower or at least like when you play the world tour matches . see this example , shocase vs dennie match http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8IzKA-qbuc , you can notice how many times both used power shots specially dennie , but his power shots are falling 1-2 feets from the side or base lines. but in a prepatch condition , the speed , the power , the serving all become so fast which gives huge advantage for power players , the power shots EASILY EASILY hit the baseline or the sideline . unfortunately some guys try to break the patch intentionally .

and for the 2k open thingy , please i would like you to try it and then you can judge if there is such a thing or not if you want we can play a match together

I used to enter Wt and asked my opponents to do the same.. Only recently I thought 2k open is better as it takes less time to enter as well as it can download patch as well.. I don't feel any difference between logging in Wt or 2k open to be honest.. For me both seem to be same. And i still think that if you're not connected to patch then game freeze on button serve.. That's what I remember used to happen

The ball machine itself is nothing special. It's only purpose is to show the other person where you are in the menus. "Navigating through menus" could be anywhere. When you press start at the "press start page" the patch is then applied. But your opponent can't see when this happens. Going to the ball machine shows you did this process. You can also see when your opponent is at the world tour and 2k open. The patch is not applied on Xbox at these stages so its useless to go there on Xbox.

Sometimes server is not available and game doesn't connect to server in the screens before ball machine screen. So ball machine method is not very reliable

On Xbox when the server is not available everyone is prepatch for online player matches, and you can't get on the world tour or 2kopen.
