Serving Position

Postby Jbeast99 » Sat, 15 Jun 2013 02:32

Is there a set rule on where a player can serve from? I always serve from the center because I was told that is where you are supposed to serve from. Some people serve from the starting position. Some players will serve from the starting position but end up standing further out wide.I don't want to name any names as there are some who do it on the tour. Feedback would be much appreciated.

Also anyone else have problems with their controllers. I have broken a few analogs playing topspin and it is quite annoying. I wear out the grip and then the analog gets broken. Just curious if its only me or are other players having problems with it.

They have to move their players back to the middle of the court when they notice the player has moved towards the tramlines.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

From what I've read/been told, serving 1 step out is also fine?

The widest you can stand is the default position.

Which is the equivalent of one step from the centre.

What ends up happening is that people will serve from default position and then during the match on one side they will creep farther outside giving them an unfair advantage. So much easier and more fair to just serve from the center, but some people need their serve to get points.

Some player do this, on the deuce side especially, they won't actually step out, but they won't step in either, sometimes until the next set. It only takes two service games without stepping in and bam, you're tramline serving. Rather annoying.

I ware my analogs out really quick on topspin, especially the left one. Cuts a groove into it and gets real loose and makes everything register late, sucks.
