Petition for Buy-Back Program

Postby EZE 17SUSPENDED » Sun, 12 Jun 2011 04:03

Why did this thread get locked?!? The guy brings up a great point. I think they completely changed the game and made it something different than what we bought. See below;

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since there are some of us who simply don't want to play this game anymore after the patch, and since 2k obviously is not going to change anything back, I have started a petition for a buy-back program for all of the customers who feel they have been short-changed by this "update."

I started it on the 2k forums here:

http://2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285222

We can also start one here if you like... either way I want 2k to know there are those of us who have voices and should be heard as a group.

I understand most here like the patch because you guys play competitively online but for many of us the game has completely changed into a frustrating and boring version of what WAS an enjoyable game.

I'm going to copy and paste the petition here as well... so if you feel the same as many of us do please sign it.

Thank You

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since 2k Sports has fundamentally changed Top Spin 4 with their latest patch. (Which shouldn't be called a patch it should be called a complete overhaul and reprogramming of the game dynamics)

I would formally like to start a petition to implement a "Buy-Back" program for all of the customers who have asked you to change back this ridiculous patch and whose requests have fallen on deaf ears.

I paid $60 for this game two months ago and I loved it up until two weeks ago.

If the game as it is NOW, post-patch, was reflected in the demo I would NEVER have bought this game.

This, to me, is bordering on false advertisement.

You gave us one game and then switched it 180 degrees to another game.

If the boring gameplay and ridiculous difficulty was present on your demo I suspect you would have half the customer base for this title that you have now.

So I am the first on this list of people to petition for a refund. I hope anyone else who feels the same will reply to this thread and add their name and forum ID to let 2k know how badly we want a solution to this.

Please give us instructions for where to send the game and how we get our money back.

Sincerely,

1. J. Clark --> Imatk [/url]

lol, your kind of people would never survive any competitive scene of anything.

I can only imagine this years ago in any sport:

"I would like to have a buyback of my contract in the NBA. They changed the defense to allow zone, and that fundamentally changed the game. I don't feel as if the game I've played all my life has been changed. This is false advertisement."

Think a little, what did they FALSELY ADVERTISE? Nothing. Their advertisements had nothing to do with the "fun-level" you're having with the game.

Suck it up and get over it.

You're the people that stop a major company from investing time into its clientele.

Huh? What are you talking about? Wouldn't survive any competitive scene? You should probably think a little before posting something that makes absolutely no sense. They changed the game to something completely different from what I bought.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you aren't going to get a penny back, unless you sell your game ofcourse.
Since the release of PS3/xbox360 sony/ms made it clear that developers would have the choice to release patches/dlc for their games through their networks (xbl/psn).
The demos of games released on xbl/psn has nothing to do with the final products. Developers put the nice little "This is just a demo and not necessarily a representation of the final product" message that comes with all demos.

A ton of games get patched. This is nothing new, and consumers who don't like the patched product either sell it or stop playing. It's that simple.

That's like saying you want a refund from microsoft/apple because they patched 360/ipad, and you don't like the new patch. Not happening.

They did not change the game fundamentally. Animations, core features, online functionality are all the same. All they did was change some values to alter the gameplay.

This guy is either pissed because his tactics do not work anymore and he cant stand loosing. Or he genuinely does not like the gameplay changes. I really dont know what it is but he is just pissed off. I am sure that he would have bought the game if the demo was like the current product. Heck, he would probably have bought the game even if the cover featured a nude Stepanek.

As for the reason we locked the thread. It is quite simple, we believe that with some positive criticism and constructive arguments we get a lot more done. Starting a thread like this will only give people a place to bitch about it. They have a short relief of their frustration and think they accomplished something. In the mean time we dont get anywhere, 2k gets no more input and the entire community has to read the bitching time after time as this is not something that is contained within a single post but spreads.

So please, if you have anything to add to this discussion i suggest you do it in the balancing thread.

There's no way you will ever get your money back no matter how many people you get to sign that thing.. You're just wasting your time.

Get over it, either play the game or sell it.

Yes I agree with Goa in that it is very far fetched that a person would want or even expect a refund? :? I mean the game only costs £40 or 40 euro so even if I didn't like a game that much I would just suck it.

Also I am very confused as to why a someone thinks that the game has changed so much. It is exactly the same game as Slicer said - yes a few tweaks have been made to the gameplay but it still feels and plays the same fundamentally. Control shots ate still there, as are power shots - timing has changed slightly and unforced errors are in which is a great addition.

Oh lord , either this guy has a lot of time on his hand or he is trying to coherse the developers into changing the game way back and screw the majority that actually liked the changes .

So I lock it, and you decide to put it up again?

If you want to start or be part of petition, do it outside of ITST.
