The game was okay. I do remember playing with the keyboard. Not my favorite though. :)

Sorry about my late response kschoice. Ive finally been able to pick up a gamepad.

I like the game a lot and i havent encountered any bugs which is pretty impressive. Ive got a couple things to mention:

Perhaps its just a matter of practise but i didnt feel i had much controle over the service.

Id like to see a demo where in i can play some points against the computer. The individual shots are all great but gameplay wise we need at least some rallies to see whats this game all about.

When i have pressed the prepare shot button for my forehand it might be nice to be able to go to my backhand in one button press instead of having to unprepare my forehand and then prepare my backhand. So if i have prepared my forehand a press of the prepare your backhand button should prepare my character for a backhand shot.

Ill see if i can give some more points this evening.

Edit: I remember something else. When you volley you dont need to prepare for a shot but on the baseline it does (which makes perfect sense to me). The trainings dont really allow me to test out how it will work when im half way the court running forward. What if the ball just bounces before i can volley it? Im wondering how the game will respond then.

Thanks for the feedback.

The game still needs a lot of tuning, most of it will be done after the first release as we can't delay anymore. The bright part is that we will be able to do it taking in account customer feedback.

The feeling of loose control over the serve is deliberate. I want to prevent what happens in games that are too arcadey and gives 100 % control on serving. Whatever gameplay you choose, leaving 100 % control results in the player being able to serve exactly as he wishes at least 90 % of the time, which is highly unrealistic and makes first/second serves irrelevant. Regarding the demo, it still needs tuning as I said, and the player you're controlling has relatively poor stats, which makes it even more difficult to control. Still, if you don't hit hard, and adjust your timing carefully, the ball should bounce near the aiming spot.

Regarding rallies, my goal is to provide a tutorial lesson in the demo that lets you play a tie break against the teacher, and therefore experience real points. But I wasn't happy enough with the game to do that yet.

I'll see what I can do about the prepare button problem.

Finally, as much as I am grateful (which is a lot) towards ITST users for their interest in Full Ace, I think it would be better if feedback about it was gathered on our forum. I would of course greatly appreciate that people keep praising here  , but as much as possible, please post specific remarks on our site.

Again, thank you

What you said about the serving sounds interesting. One question though: Is this lack of control due to some randomness, or is it just that you are making it so difficult that it would be nearly impossible to master?

The goal is that it is random, and that potential bias grows as :
_ you try to serve stronger
_ your timing is far from accurate
_ serving stats of the tennisman you're controlling are low

Hello,

I just finished the game just now:

1) Nice if you can create double-hander backhanders too.

2) Change nothing, I mean nothing . . . about the gameplay. It is fun!!

3) Shot spot, perhaps?

4) Make each linesmen with his on chances of calling the ball in our out. The umpire will have the most chances to call the ball in or out though. She can overall the ball.

a. MatchBall tennis has this in its game!!

5) Fix the player's ability to run through the net and go to New York City and to Sydney and back.

6) Add full duobles support that can be played with any partner around the globe! :)

Very good game development mate!!
