Full Ace new version preview

Postby kschoice » Thu, 15 Dec 2016 10:20

Hi everyone on ITST !

Long time no see, I know.

But today, I would like to share some videos with you. They are previews of a major Full Ace upgrade I am currently working on. For now, the bulk of the work has been about improving characters' animation, but I have other plans as well. If everything goes well, this upgrade should be released on Steam early 2017.
Please let me know what you think !

We also have higher plans, like releasing a HD version of Full Ace, then bringing it to PS4 and Xbox One. To accomplish those, we definitely could use some fundraising, and therefore we are exploring opportunities like crowdfunding or patronage. You may help us refine our strategy in this regard, by answering the following survey (5-10 minutes) :

Best regards.

Love that you are doing this man, anims are almost completely revamped and look very nice. My only criticism would be that there's a little too much going on with the hips and arms on the serve, and there should be more movement in the footwork for the groundies, but the follow through motions look great though. Overall, great stuff!
Biggest wins: Singles:DC:def. mohd954 (10) 7-6(4) 7-6(9), RG:def.pigrosofo (15) 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6(7)
Doubles #1! 8-5-16

Thanks for your feedback
If you can give me more precisions about the serve, I'd appreciate it (btw, first or second video ? The second one is the more recent one). I agree that footwork can be better because it's hard to handle when the player hits while "on the move" but I have ideas about improving that.

The animation on the serve seems wobbly, the hips are moving way too much, if you shorten the movement with the hips, the serve will be almost perfect.

Just enter the number corresponding to the amount for each perk.

Very happy to see you are working on this! I never played Full Ace before but this looks very good. As far as animations, they look good to me. I care far less about animations as I do actual gameplay. So if the game play feels good and physics are good, these animations are absolutely fine. Thanks again for the work!

I'm afraid you can't set the camera that low in the game for now, and you can't change it yourself either. Something to think about in the new version

OK no problem. In the meanwhile, stay tuned. It would also be great if you answer the survey and/or spread the word if you can. :D
