Return Game Tactic

Postby o Sinna o » Sun, 24 Jan 2010 16:33

It's me and I opened a new Thread so please be cool but this DMT Characters & Tactics Forum needs a few more Thread to talk about the Game anyway.

I just noticed during a few Onlinematches that it's really hard to return a good Servicegame for me and that the Opponent can hit a lot of Aces against me.

I mean that's the Parts of DMT that I really like like I said in another Thread because I can hit Aces too like I did yesterday in a Onlinematch. But my Returnskill has to be better.

So which Tipps would you give a Beginner like me?
I even got Problem with the CPU Service on easy because the CPU plays some really good placed Serves at this Level.

So how dó you Guys play your Returngames?
I noticed that you got almost no other Choice against a Player who serves close to the Lines or on the Lines then deciding for a Side while the other Player throws the ball up in the air to serve.

Is that how you Guys doing it too or do you have a special Position to wait for every Serve no matter if he comes down to the t-Line or to the outsides? I mean you got almost no other Choice then moving to the ball if the other Player places his Service very well or?

I mean you can't just stand in the middle like a Rock and wait for everything what comes. You have to move a lil bit or what would you say?

How do you prepare your Returngame for good Service Players and how do you act?

You need to just either guess.
Or just stand further back.
Or if you get some good returns in you'll see your opponent should hit less close to the lines because of stress :-)

A tactic that I have been using is look at the service box on YOUR OPPONENT'S side of the court. That will get you an earlier look to the ball before you return.

Also, like Anil said, it is best to stand back if you are a poor returner like me.
