Top Spin 3 Rule Change - Returning Serves

Postby Rob ITST » Fri, 30 Jan 2009 02:25

There has been much debate about this, and after listening to everyone's comments, we have decided to make a clear rule about standing inside or on the baseline for service returns.

With immediate effect, you must stand behind the baseline while returning serves - and your return of serve must not result in your character stepping on, or inside the baseline.

The ease and effectiveness of returning from inside the baseline makes it an obvious glitch in the game, and taking advantage of any glitch is considered cheesy and is not allowed in ITST matches.

The ITST Management feels this rule will help preserve the realistic nature of the game, and eliminate much of the confusion over what tactics can be used in our tournaments.

What happens when a guy has a good serve and just goes out wide every single time?

I think this is the right rule, it is almost impossible sometimes to even get to a ball if the returner is inside the baseline and hits a risk return. If a server goes out wide evry single time, then u know its coming and u can take it away with a double risk shot or, what i use the LT + A. If u can place it well it will through him off balance.

Alright
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
