We need a Fed Cup!

Postby Adimu187 » Tue, 23 Dec 2008 10:11

I'm proud of the characters I've created (Serena) (Venus) and I've played against very strong competitors with female characters. There however aren't a lot of players who create female characters but maybe if there was a more competitive type tournament there would be, which is why I'm requesting there be a Fed Cup.

My female player has been left there gathering dust since the YEC so yeah I'd be up for this if it was to go ahead. I doubt there'll be enough though.

Hopefully if enough players respond to this forum we could get the word out.

If the numbers are there (enough people playing the ladies game) there will be a Fed Cup in 2009.

Well let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm so ready for that to happen! There is so much talent out there, just not enough players. [female]

I think the top players from each country should serve as captains and begin recruiting players for that specific team. Once the teams are established, I don't think we should have a problem. So far I've contacted players from U.S.A., Italy, Spain, Germany, and France...numbers aren't there yet, but I'm optimistic. This is the first day so let's keep at it!

So far, only ten votes in 2 days. There are only a few countries that even meet the requirements of players...which I'm assuming the minumum would be three if following the Davis Cup rules. I'm wondering how many countries would have to participate for this to get started?

That is a good idea. I like the Fed and Davis Cup events. Now, how much players play on the females' tour?

Very good. So your work to the admins, and I am sure that they can at least tell you a yes or no.

I have been here before when I wanted to start a doubles tour for PC players of TS I. They were very supportive.

Great job, and if you need me to help you with further tips or type out anything for you, just let me know.

I think it is great that you are looking to further this for ITST's community. Again, great job!!

Q, I would like to ask exactly who in administration did you relate your ideas to...I went to look up the appropriate people to talk to but my browser sends me somewhere else. And I'd love some help with this idea...I'm thinking I should set up a poll that asks from what country will you be participating but I do need to fly this by the people in charge of the site before then...

The management team would be the persons to contact concerning this (either me, Cro Morgan or Rob ITST). If you would like to see if there is enough interest for a Fed Cup feel free to open a poll.

I checked the players list of the last womens tournament. Seems like 4 nations could play the Fed Cup (Canada, USA, UK and Holland). I guess if we find 2 more its viable to hold a Fed Cup.
