Both actually.

Although I usually serve with the stick, I do use the buttons sometimes for variation. Especially when the stickserve doesn't prove difficult enough to return, I use some L2+Button serve for the variation.

Don't really know what works better though, probably just whatever one prefers.

One thing I hate about the stick is that if I want to serve a flat service, I sometimes accidentally serve a topspin or slice service.

Biggest challenge though remains the timing of the left stick for some nice placement.

mainly buttons but I do use the stick when I remember. I can get more extreme angles with the stick but for me it's a bit hit and miss

I prefer buttons as I find it easier to coordinate with S&V.

Using the stick the serves go much faster but I can't quite get the motion to add the different spins. I only use it to go for nasty speedy aces.

I would love to know how you serve! We just played and your kick serve is wicked, how do you do that???

As for me, i use buttons exclusively, never really learned to time it right with the stick.

lol I use almost only the right stick, sometimes buttons on second serves. Basically, I can hit good serves with the buttons every time. But I can hit great serves with the stick, sometimes.

I use the stick because you have much more control over your serve. With the buttons, there are two speeds - with RT, and without RT. With the stick, you can hit many different speeds. Also, I think the button serves only aim in 8 directions (like using a cross pad), but the stick lets you aim in any direction - ie, straight left, left+up, left+slightly up, etc.

yes, and with the stick you can also hit the ball harder, around 10 Km/h faster that button serve if you use the stick correctly

I never use the stick because I just don't manage to get those speedy serves with it. I get the same type of serve hit with the buttons around 30kmh faster than hit with the stick.

i basically use buttons&triggers, i just use right stick to throw down some centre-ish bullets. i can't really find a damn way to time angled serves well with right stick...i never tried that hard or trained, actually, so oh well :P

I use both there was a time I used stick serves only but somehow i can't get to hit the lines as well as I do with the buttons.
I do get a good hard flat serve with the right stick but slice and top spin serves are very lame ( that is my slice and top spin ) I didnt find a way to get more power on those....should pratice in school a bit more i guess.
Plus my thumb doesn't like the right stick .
