My Apologies for Missing Matches

Postby ILuvBillVal » Sun, 06 Feb 2011 17:09

I arrived home from work Friday, after a fairly routine day. Work was long, but the week was over. I was set to play Coolhand Texas that night at 10PM EST, and was greatly anticipating my match the very next day with Baghdad at 20CET. I fired up my laptop to check my E-Mail and such when I arrived home, only to find a strange inability to connect. My modem was flashing only two lights, an error indicative of "no return." So I entered my modem's IP to check the diagnostics only to confirm the worst. After testing all possible coax lines in my house I realized I'd need to call it in. The ISP set up a technician appointment, but the only available was Sunday morning, between 9 and 11AM EST. Unfortunately this forced me to miss my two deadlines and that being the case left me with no possible way of connecting to ITST to let anyone know. Everyone knows I've never, nor will I ever dodge any opponent in my life. So for not being able to make these matches, I am very sorry and hopefully I can still make the best of the matches I have left.

No problem my man, but to be honest I cannot play any other times then the one we scheduled for so I guess its a walkover for me, JOKE

I am looking forward to playing and most probably losing but I will give it my all as I always do. It will be a nice way to end my SIM and TS3 career by playing the new man in town

PM me to let me know your availability.

I'm on right now (Sunday) and can be for a few more hours then out for a bit... if you're around now let's do it. :-)

And stop that nonsense retirement talk.

That is unfortunate.

I cannot bend the rules for anyone, sorry. But that said, if I get a result in a PM from either of you - I will gladly replace a WO with that result.

Offer valid till end of day today.

Geeps, a walkover in the AO MS, definitely a shame. Boo to Djarvik haha.

How long have bill and I got? We were scheduled to play Saturday and I was online and waiting and bill, as above, couldn't get on. I can't play today (Sunday) and don't want the walkover. The time difference means I might have to stay up till midnight to play on a work night this week but if that is what needs to be done so be it.
Al?

I am not the host of SIM, so I cannot make that decision.

But yeah, I saw today in the morning that ILuv disappeared and missed Friday's appointment with Coolhand. So I had to make a decision as it was 2 days ago.

I don't want to go back on any decision, so the WO stays unless they somehow play tonight. This was a QF that was 4 days late over allowed 2 day + missed appointment. :? Sorry.

Ah. Well to clear up any possible misinformation, this purpose of this post was not to question any decisions made by the ITST staff regarding any of these said matches. I was merely just apologizing for missing them basically, mostly to my opponents but also to the staff. I always try my hardest to get to play all my matches, even if at times I have to wake up at 6AM!

I don't blame you guys at all for following rules, though. That's what they're there for. I was REALLY looking forward to this AO Semi though, like a LOT so I'll definitely be disappointed if we don't get to play.

Unfortunately we cannot play our match, ILuvBillVal. I sent djarvik a pm, he should take care of the situation once he reads it

Yes, I talked to djarvik and I had hoped to get all my matches played by the end of the weekend, but when IluvBillval lost his internet we got delayed. This upcoming week is going to be hell for me to try and schedule times to play matches. So I let Iluvbillval have the WO knowing it would speed up the process greatly.

Sorry for the confusion

No problem for the confusion
Nice touch from you,too give now Iluvbillval the Walkover
But Walkover is for both Players bad by a GS QF...i think the best resolution is make a 7:6,7:6,7:6 Results and you become the deserved 360 Ranked Points for the QF.

I think in exceptional cases is this not cheesy or banned by ITST...?!?

A result cannot be submitted unless the match was actually played. If the host believes a player deserves to receive points, he may decide to give that player the points despite a walkover. But this is entirely the host's and admin's decision.
