alex def riley 5-7 7-6 6-2 5-7 6-3
1st set:
Riley started off strong and I didnt feel comfortable out there, couldnt play my counterpunching game cause riley was hitting some ridiculously good angles, and when i did get to them the shots flew out. However, mid game I started getting into it and it was more or less even, but riley raised his lvl to break me at 6-5 with some good returns
2nd set:
Not much to say, we held serve till 7-6 and (i think) exchanged breaks. In the tiebreak I manage to go up two breaks, riley got one back, then I got another and he double faulted on set point.
3rd set:
The score probably doesnt reflect the set, I just managed to break when I got my chances and riley didn't.
4th set:
I started getting too comfortable, riley's level was sinking and I felt i could just breeze through this one but he got back into the game around 3-3 and didn't look back. He got me at 6-5 again with some good returns.
5th set:
Felt pretty down here and just generally lost momentum. Forced myself to stay in it and threw some on the run risks that miraculously went in, and although I was the one being pressured I somehow broke mid-set and served out at 5-3 40-30 to win the match.
Really tough match, riley is becoming one of those few opponents against who you don't know what to expect and its difficult to get a grip and a rythm in the game. We've always had close matches, usually in three sets, This being our first bo5 i'm not suprised it went to 5. As everyone already knows, hes someone to seriously watch out for this year (or for most: until march when top spin 4 comes out and then god knows

) Thx for a great match buddy
