New Season Predictions?

Postby ILuvBillVal » Tue, 04 Jan 2011 02:13

A new season is upon us, and there's always a possibility of unpredictable things to happen. New stars to emerge, old stars falling off the radar and drama to unfold. I love it! I'm curious to know what everyone's thoughts are moving forward.

I think Norberto will continue to dominate for sure. I also believe that Darth Luisito is going to make a huge splash this year. Out of all the guys coming up in the ITST I really saw him play some strong tennis at the end of last year and I think he has the kind of game that's going to win him a lot of matches.

And Coolhand Texas is playing again. How exciting is that!?

;-)
Norberto H or bust.

My 10 predictions.

1. Norberto to lose #1 spot in SIM and to move #3 behind ILuv and Baghdad.
2. No change in the 40-90 top 5, considering all players play full or semi-full schedule.
3. Coolhand and Mack to move into Top 10 in SIM.
4. SMP Androyo to win 3+ titles and move in to top 10 40-90 and top 15 SIM.
5. Synesthesia70 to win 3+ titles and to move in to top 15 in SIM.
6. Puttu puttuu to win a GS, likely RG.
7. Norberto to have a Mixed Golden Slam. 2-MS, 1-MSS and 1-WS
8. Baghdad to win AO SIM.
9. Kina to enter top 20 in SIM.
10. Darth_Luisito to win a GS.

how nice of you but it is impossible for several reasons
1 I am one of the worst returner and i play only on my serve game
2 my move during rallies is too bad ( maybe because i use directional cross )
3 my timing during rallies is not very good
But thanks

Well, I think your game works best on slower courts. There is no hitting a ball past you on clay.....so if your shots click, you will win the Risky Norberto and outrun the God Like ILuv. Plus the home court advantage

1. I AM the worst returner!  Seriously thou, I think you keep saying you are the worst returner and that doesn't help you. A bit of confidence and risk will solve the problem.
2. I actually think you move very good. Especially when stretches wide.
3. Sometimes you get into Top Spin Mode and forget to change directions using a flat shot, that is the only problem with your ground game. Otherwise you very solid and good at net.

Not to mention that your serve should get you lots of tie break opportunities. You dont need to improve a lot, just a little tiny bit.

That's really interesting you said that about Syn, Al. I was actually considering making mention of him. Last time we played I noticed he had gotten considerably stronger in rallies. I like the prediction. I stand by Luisito making a huge impact, though... I almost feel as though I'm playing Norberto when we play.

Puttu will definitely have a big year, as will Mack. For me that's a sure thing considering at last year's finish they were total superstars. SMP, I think you just lack too much confidence in your game. I mean you have a wicked serve so now you don't even need to work on that just improve whatever else you think you need and you could definitely be winning some titles.

I would love to see Baghdad back in the game. We haven't really gotten to play many actual ITST matches so I'm really looking forward to that. For me the exciting thing is the prospect of the unknown next big thing stepping up and totally taking ITST by storm. Once we got past the halfway point of last year things seemed to pretty much fall into place. I'd like to see someone shake things up.

Prediction: Djarvik wins Wimbledon! OHHHH SHIT!

Yes for Puttuu, but for me - A big FAIL year  I'm in horrendous form in all MS, MSS and WS at the moment. I seem to have lost the fizz in my shots - I easily get outplayed in baseline duels now coz I can't help throwing in soft, middle of the court puffballs. Return is as awful as ever. I don't how how everyone else seems able to cover BOTH outwide serve and up the T at the same time. I can only commit to one side. I must be doing something wrong on return like not using lb or something.
Movement is sucky and I'm still blowing leads in sets..I think the main problem is that I just don't know what kind of player I should be using. Super aggressive stats are wasted on me as I'm not a real attacking player, but ultra defensive stats are useless against the best players as they'll just outhit you :(

I think you are a bit harsh on yourself . You can't be that pants in sim if you nearly destroyed me .

I was playing at 110 percent against you yesterday . You still dominated me completely for the most part . When you were 5-2 up i just gave my all and managed to come back.

My advice to you since you are one of the best movers on tour is to try and a char with speed . You should really focus on your best attribute .

I agree with Puttu.

I have told you this in the past Mack: Mental Midget gots to GO!

Try all the players with 80+ speed, stick with one. Rogers is now a very good choice for you as well. Thompson is a beast. A few others.

I always give my all when I play you, and you win me a lot. And I will Puttu sometimes (when he lets me), so by definition - you are good!
