Thanks Riley!

Thats high praise coming from you...

I think I'm among the best 'basic' base-liners, but can definitely improve using risk. I can do just enough risking to compete with the big-boys (which I include you) but often feel over-powered by those who know how to risk effectively and I have to rely on defense alot more than I would like.

I think the most effective base-liner is Lonamer! He can take the ball earlier than anyone and mixes up his shot depth very well, I always feel off balanced playing him.

I put Nito second, he over-powers me more than anyone else.

Then I would say its Alex, he's very consistent and can rally all day and has good defense.

Then its you and Chump: both of you have good power and seem to go for short angles to get your opponents moving at just the right time.

Honorable mentions (for those I have not played in a while):

Cobra, Corbuster, LordV, Brgrfliper

lol....to be mentioned in your top 5 servers and baseliners? i guess i put up a good fight everytime i played against you...thanks.

Top 4

1. Lonemar: this guy play with so much power from the baseline that gives you so little time to react and get back on defense.

2. Riley: plays with so much variety. He's the all-around player.

3. DRII: is relentless when it comes to defense. You need to end the point quick when play him; or else, it's gonna feel like you are hitting against a brick wall.

4. Alex: plays with a lot of top spin and consistency as DRII mentioned. He can really rally with you until you drop.

Never played chump, I am curious now

Not sure if much changed since I last played, but if I had to pick the best basliners I would do this:

1. Lonamer
He does everything well. Doesn't risk much, but is able to hurt you more then other during the rally. Mainly with patterns. I think his strength is shot selection and returns.

2. Alex
Best to turn defense into offense. One of the best LT placement riskers. I think what makes him so good is that he puts the ball into the rally all the time. our serve or his - no quick points. At the start of the match you kinda thinking great, I am happy, not easy points - but that is exactly what you should avoid.

3. Nito
He is best when he plays all out power tennis. I played him both, in SIM style and power....and he is way better power baseliner then anyone on the tour right now. If he chooses to stay away from "fancy play" - he will win 9.5 out of 10 times :P

4. djarvik
I think I am still up there. Granted, I don't play as much...but I usually catch my timing back during the exo. I feel when I play my best, I have the total package.

5. DRII
The best defender here. Very tough to put away, very tough to score points against. He is not as quick to turn defense into offense as Alex, but he sure can and will do it.

Here you go. My 2c. Sorry if I didn't place any of the new talent, just haven't played you yet. Send me a friend request and I will add you, then I can tell you what I think of your game.

Its very hard to pick a plain 5 best baseliners as my 5 best offensive baseliners will be different to my 5 best defensive baseliners, but I will do my best to pick the 5 best.

1)Lonamar- I come completely unstuck playing him. When we play he is simply too good and completely destroys me. Simply to good. His ability to hit any shot from anywhere is amazing. Very good at running down balls as well

2)Alex- Great defence, can run after balls all day and can turn defence into attack with fantastic on the run down the line shots. He is also able to take the ball early and attack when he wants to.

3)Djarvik- Very similar to Alex, maybe not quite as good in some respects but he is tactically extremely good and is very good at playing difficult balls and different spins.

4)Likos- A very good attacking baseliner. Can hit some wicked power shots that really put you on the back foot. Very good defence as well.

5)Maximo- Great at the power blasting, good on the run as well.

Baseliners

Postby Lonamer11 » Tue, 04 Jan 2011 00:28

1. DRII

He is a very basic baseliner, but with a lot of power. I have to defend a lot against him everytime we play. Also his defense is someting to talk about. When you think the points is over he gets it back.

2. Alex

A true genius on the court. His defense is the best. Always gives you a extra ball to look at and when he has enough he gives you a winner out of nowhere. If your not tough mentally, he definetly kills you on the court with his play.

3. Nito

A true power player. If you give hm easy balls he puts it away every time. he can make you feel helpless on court.

4. Djarvik

havent played you in a while. But this guy is a true tactician. Always nice too see how come up with something genius.

5. Riley

power player like nito. Maybe not that consistent but he gives you always a tough match. Also his angles are something too watch out for
