What are your feelings on the SIM Tour?

YES! By all means sign Bilvalmakov up right now!

I will NEVER use Bilvalmakov with THOSE stats, but I think he should replace Bash.

You're totally so right ILBV, but I can't win without a 90 serve, please keep Bash!!!!

Let's get rid of Bash but replace him with a different, slightly better looking character than Bilvalmakov.

Change is in the air for the SIM Tour

Postby ILuvBillVal » Mon, 20 Dec 2010 00:06

Yes, the winds of change are blowing right toward the Top Spin 3 SIM Tour. I know many of you have voiced your opinions on what you'd like, and I now I'd like to hear your collective voices become one. Now, whilst (for you Cro) you all are contemplating REAL hard (please no Murda Mindstate pop ups saying, "I want to be on LINE DANCING WITH THE STARS!") what changes you would like to see made to the tour, I will fill you in on what I have to propose.

The beauty of the SIM Tour is that its stripped down stats allow players to show just how truly great they are. It's no secret that in TS3 players with high serve run the table in 40/90. This is what causes the 4X90 ripple effect in which players develop the mentality that, "if he's got a 90 on wings, serve and power, I'll need the same to defeat him!"

That being said, ever since I started SIM I have noticed a slightly stagnant odor of 40/90 surrounding Bashmakov. To me he's basically the crutch for any player too afraid to make the transition from MS to SIM. In SIM, a rating of 60 is actually decent when put in perspective with all players. Taking that into consideration we can see that technically speaking, like Lopez, Bashmakov has NO weaknesses. Furthermore, unlike Lopez he has a WICKED serve which as we all know gives an unbalanced advantage enough as it is.

There is no need for a character like this in SIM. There are plenty of strong, more SIM-like options than Bashmakov for servers. I have some proposed editions of the character for you. If that's not approved I would like to see Bash just removed completely and replaced by the brilliant SIM minds that brought you the rest of the roster. I'll introduce my character djarvik style on this one:

Iluv Bilvalmakov:
Hailing from the icy wasteland town of OMGSwiftyISMYHERO, Siberia, Bilvalmakov began playing tennis at the tender age of two and a half weeks. His long time coach and trainer was a nameless hermit who strangely resembled Danny Devito as The Penguin in "Batman Returns." He developed his rock solid wings and punch volleying by hitting iceballs instead of tennis balls. While working as a school janitor, Bilvalmakov nearly became Siberian amateur tennis champ until a freak accident trying to rescue his cousin VinDiesel Bashmakov from a polar bear left him badly injured. Fortunately he was able to recover, however his strength and movement never returned 100%. Nevertheless he appeared ready for action and vowed to take over the world of SIM.

When interviewed about his plans to try and enter ITST, Bilvalmakov said the following to me:
"You should have called yourself ILuvNorberto. DUH!"

There you have it. Vote my friends and also please express your opinions and any ideas you might have!

why would i not use bashmakov against you ?

If i used Thomson you would just rip return winners all the time .

With bash you dont hit as many winners on returns as you would do if i played with Thomson ... unless i slice served out of wide all the **** time .

At the end of the day i know how to use Thomson . I know how to play sim ( a few can back me up , i dont need to prove myself ) .

Because of the whole risk return winners... i would rather chose bash against you than any other player .

10 on the presentation, for sure! hahaha :tu

Now, I like your proposed setup, and I would use something like that. Not sure if we can nix the Bashama, this guy is very popular to simply "eliminate" him. You know, people will notice if he is gone, will start asking questions.

I guess my question is: would anyone from top 10 use him consistently in tournaments? ...not friendlies only.

I am not gonna take sides on Bashma, but I do agree to a degree that serving in TS3 is broken and the initial idea of having a Big Server in roster was designed to let the newcomers SIMmers stay competitive in a match, but I guess we failed a bit at that, he became a monster.

Also important to note, that if we do take Bashma away, we will be eating Bagels from Iluv, all day.

Lets not make it about 1 player and 1 player only, Bashma.

We are looking into a possibility to add and maybe adjust a few players before new season, so ANY feedback from you guys is great.

ILuv - thanks for bringing up the subject, very timely!

Also, Cannon and Striker are both very legitimate servers for SIM.

was just about to say that. bashmakov, since the power nerf, is very rarely used on ps3 sim. his place is taken up more by cannon, if i had to pick one.

The problem with Bashmakov is, that eventhough he works great against 99,9% of my opponents, he just sucks against the supernatural IluvBillVal. You still have an extremely high risk-return-percentage, and if you are not going to risk, I am hardly able to play a shot you do not reach with your speed. So in the end, having serve 90 is a waste against you - at least for me. The next time I play you I'll try a different char against you, that's for sure...

I use Bash and have enoyed quite a bit of success with him lately, but I don't mind if the roster is changed. To be honest, I still don't think I am probably playing with the right sim player for my style of game. All I know is that his serve helps keep me afloat

Its good that you are analyzing guys  but where are the suggestions??? :?

.... and once again, lets not make it about Bash. I think we (the management) heard about him enough to make a decision. So lets move on to New Players, or adjustments to existing ones.

Anyone?

Ahahah funny thread.

I agree with the fact that bashmy isn't very SIM and and he's too much used but that's it, enough said.
As far new guys are concerned. I just think the rodster triplet, Anil, Rob and Al has to work again cause except for a player that would fit my own game, I don't think I would be able to propose anything logic.
One last thing, i'm affraid that unfortunately, any new players will replace Bashmy and poeple will still use him.

@Jesse, I agree Lopez is a great player with almost no real wikness. But Why the hell no one or a very very few only uses him then?
