I played against andyroro about a week back.....amazing serve - more aces against me than ever before....reminded me of first time i played Rob ITST.

Couldn't get a read on it...think I was making in-roads towards end of match - by in-roads, I mean I was starting to move the right direction at least some of the time : )

Wide slice serve with 90 from default position is SkIlZzZ!

SMP is great, but what made Rob's server superior is that if you send anything back but a perfect return - the point is over. Androyo prefers to play-out the point from baseline, he is far less agressive then Rob was.

I played Rob a few month's back and was surprised at how I broke him so easily considering his serve is so great. I noticed he wasn't serving/volley though. He won in close super tie-break. His baseline game is mostly good but definitely not the best I've played against. He is, however, the toughest s/v player ever!!! He would have won straight sets if he s/v against me.

Maybe he went easy on me since it was exhibition. Djarvik and Pica were much, much harder to play against from the baseline. No disrespect to Rob though. His game is revered by me and everybody else. Jus' sayin

no need to apologize i mean sometimes we play better against guys who are supposed to be unbeatable and on the other hand we suck against less skilled players, so maybe your game just fits well with Rob's style of play, that's it.

willjonesjr - your biggest weakness is in your head  Seriously. I feel like you play a Very good baseline tennis, you defend very well and hit clean, nice shots...but...at some point you just "wonder around" and lose the upper hand in rally/match. And when you fall behind, you tend to play worse, you rush more, your timing goes a bit bad...and against a good player this means doom. I really think that your "button pressing" skills are up there, towards the top....after that it is all in your head....you need to keep believing, keep at it. Stop downplaying yourself and start feeling confident about little things - the big things will follow.

I have same issue sometimes against certain players, but most times I am not going away without a fight and I always try to have that extra gear to shift to if I need.

Puttu commands my utmost respect in this regard. He and Baghdad are the ones that simply don't break mentally. Hell, I even think Norberto "breaks" sometimes...but these guys just freaking keep coming!!!

It's true! I play Advocateof04 last night and went three sets and I had break chances in second set after winning first set but I just couldn't make it happen and he eventually won second set tiebreaker and broke me my first service of third set to eventually win. I don't know what to say. It's hard to feel confident when you don't win. I have no other gears. I try to change strategy when things get rough but very rarely works for me. I think some people are born fighters and some not. I try to tell myself to fight but it's tough for me. Either way, it's not about me, it's about the ones who have earned the respect of so many players and Rob and others have done that. Maybe one day my time will come.
