you must let the ball bouncing before .
to serve directly without bouncing isn´t correct !!
to do that looks a little bit fishy und disrespectfull !!
you must give your opponent the time to prepairing himself for the return

to send this message to you is also not the best way to answer -but i can see the point from pcfitnessdotnet

Sorry but I have interpreted Venus Nadal thread as the fact that PCFtness was having a go at him because Venus took 'too long' bouncing the ball - i.e. he was getting frustrated for bouncing it like 3+ times perhaps on serve?

Either way, if he did send you a message like that, especially the "stupid brownie ****" then he is bang out of order if you know what I mean.

Venus, don't worry about it dude. Me personally I would rather people over bounce than under bounce :)

Yeah, that guy can be a bit strange. Never had him blow up at me like that, but he's usually complaining about lag with a lol thrown in at the end.

when this is the case - i understood it wrong .
so i will say sorry .

mean in fact after 3 time bouncing the serve start automaticly .
so its no big deal ,forward its absolute correct and legal to let bounce the ball 3 times .

so with this i can´t understand pcfitnessdotnet .
not his unnecessary post
and not his point at all to quit.

Yeah, I ran across this guy in a player match when I first started playing TS3 online. He had a created player, and at the time I didn't realize that you could check your opponent's stats before beginning a match. I started the match and once I saw that he was fully stacked with 100s, I immediately backed out.

He asked me what the deal was and I told him "sorry, I don't play against cheap players," which was a very poor choice of words...ha ha. What I actually meant was "I don't like playing against stacked created players." Naturally he wasn't a mind reader so he responded by cursing me out, and I quickly blocked communications with him.

We played again some time later on WT without incident. His guy had a 100 or two but by that point I didn't care, and the match was close (he won). I haven't seen him at all since then.

Me and him go WAAAAAYYYYY BACK, to the beginning of TS2. Towards the end of TS2 he started playing me in this really bizarre style where he pretty much hit a drop shot every 2nd or 3rd shot, kinda stopped caring about playing him after that, because I was still beating him plus it was super annoying playing him. I don't wanna really talk trash about him cuz he is an ITST member (I think?) and as a matter of fact he's been on my friends list for like 5 years now. Haven't played him in TS3 so I have no idea what he's like now, maybe he's a great player.

I do not agree with you in this point!
there is always enough time to go one step in the right return position!
its only one step to stay perfect!

is it cheesy to play the serve fast? i prefer to play against people who serve very fast! I do not see any disadvantage!

i hate it too, but i would not write a message to my oppenent after the match! everyone plays the game differently (see djokovic :D ) and thats good! :D :D
alle people can leave the match if you hate the gamestyle of your oppenent, its only world tour!

mean its not forbidden to do a fast serve without bouncing the ball , but in my opinion its definitifly fishy - ,with a smell of cheesy behavior .
esspecially with serve D (roddick serve)
in my opinion you have not the time to go perfectly in position to return.

BTW: at end of the day "fast serve without let bouncing the ball " is confirm with the rules (sadly)-

ok, against roddick i never played!
but if you must play against me in future i think its better to send me a message because i do not think about that if i play a match!
i knew nothing about it. but now I understand the message of coolhand which he send me after a match! :D

....but I still think it is no disadvantage! :D
....but speaking people..... 8)

i also had done this sometimes in past ,when i was in my serve flow .
so sometimes (very rarely) i had done this without thinking about ,but i never done this extra as tactic to got an advandage .
after we disscussed this a few month in past in forum ,i have a eye on it not to do this , mean i play with serve D

it would be nice when we play a match and you let the ball minimum bouncing once.
its no duty to let the ball bouncing -but it would be a respectfull acting to me,to let the ball bounce when we play a match.

Well I don't take it personally I've been called the N word many times on topspin 3 before it's just that this time the person leaves a name, photo, phone number, work and home address. I'm sure his clients and co-workers would like to know his thoughts.

Anyway this was the 2nd match we played I beat him first match even though he was 100's across the board. The 2nd match I was taking my time because he was predicting my serve and I guess that brought the realness in him out.

Too bad Xbox bans don't last long

You have to play at the servers pace.

But just in case the server isn't a complete asshole I leave a message asking them to bounce the ball a few times.

You do have to play at servers pace, but, if you as a returner are not ready, looking at your racket with your back to the court, will the server serve? ...or wait till you actually assume your return position?

Since we don't have even 1 second to adjust ourselves, after a previous point, I strongly recommend to bounce the ball once at least. With any service motion. As a courtesy.

I was kinda hoping we don't need a rule for this.

Some of you pick one spot, to return both/all serves - wide and down the line. I don't. In fact, I have many spots I use. Some of them require time to get into, take a step back or forward or to the side to cover wide serve.

If you don't let me take my desired returning spot (which only takes a second) then you essentially taking advantage of my positioning and inability to get to my spot.

For example: On one of the serves I take 3 steps wide, because I think that the opponent will hit wide, according to his previous patterns spotted by me earlier in the match. I either get the point or not.....but on the next serve, my player starts from that 3-step wide position.....and if you don't bounce the ball, giving me time to assume a different position and serve down the T, you take advantage of a Glitch. A glitch that lets you serve immediately after the previous point ended, not allowing me to even take a step.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
