It looks like I will have to forfeit all matches :-(

Postby ILuvBillVal » Thu, 01 Apr 2010 06:04

I have only been playing ITST for a short time, but I absolutely love it. Everything from the competition to getting to meet fantastic and cool new friends. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love to play top spin. I had a very unfortunate turn of events today while attempting to play Rae and Synesthesia in which my xbox started powering down and giving me the "half red ring."

Upon researching this online I found it was indicative of an overheating problem within. I did everything I could from better ventilating the system to trying to spray some compressed air in there, and nothing seems to be bettering the situation. That being said, it looks as though I will have to withdraw from the two finals I am in and the Sony Ericsson. I hate to say this because I have been having so much fun lately and was really looking forward to these matches.

I'm sorry friends for not being able to play. I know you guys were hungry as well and deserve to win just as much as myself, though! And don't worry, hopefully I can come back soon and start kicking your butts again! :-)

Buy a new one today and let's play tonight !!
I'm sorry for you mate. Can't you go to some friend's home who have an xbox? Just take you hard disk for the profile (or a memory stick) and it's done. No W/O

That s shit!

But hey BillVal, i don t want to win a tournament final via WO! I guess we gonna find a way...

@ ITST moderators

Is it possible to play a final 1-3 weeks after the deathline? I really don t want to win a title by WO, especially not if my opponent is the favorite.

3 weeks is highly improbable
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

No, i mean 1-3 weeks. I played my final against ChunkDEUCE about 10 days after deathline and it was ok.

I did ask about the 1-3 weeks because of BillVal s problem. To fix the red ring of death usually needs 2-3 weeks.

@ Xavi

thx!

The biggest problem with a lengthy extension - and the reason they are rarely given - is that it delays any update of the rankings (and tournament seedings). This is especially troublesome when you have a Masters Series event (Monte Carlo) on the horizon.

i know chris - i readed about illbilval´s problem.
i said that emotion less and that was no offense or anything to anyone .
from my side you can wait 5 weeks to play the challenger final .

i only know that it is normally not possible to wait 3 weeks to play the final .
however ,congrats for winning the tournament !!

Well, just see i got the WO...

Ok, you can t be happy to win a tournament by WO, but i can understand we couldn t wait that long (some weeks).

I hope it s ok for BillVal and he isn t angry about it.

I am now the only german besides pfnerch who ever won a title... but of course with MUUUUUCH luck!

I'm not angry at all. My purpose for this post was to partially inform people I may not be playing for a little while, but also to inform all the mods and opponents of mine at once (a total of 8 I believe) that I probably wouldn't be able to play. I know I will get back there eventually...to me it most sucks about Doraku and Zizou because these are guys that I really wanted to play and never have yet.

Actually, the only thing I can add to this is I wish you didn't have to take away all my points earned in these tournaments... I know with the challengers it isn't much and all that but it's not like a typical walkover to me. I'm more than ready to play and available to play I just can not play! It's all good though I understand I guess it's just the system you have to use in that situation.

Use the towel trick, it actually works. Only thing that sucks is sometimes it will leave half the screen a little funky.

How does it work?
