Leaving ITST

Postby ChunkDEUCE » Tue, 30 Mar 2010 02:41

I am so sick and tired of the bureaocracy and just complete and utter nonsense that goes on here. The cliques rule and the forum gods are all-powerful. I recently got a walkover in my two last matches that by any sane person's discretion make literally no sense:

1. BNP Paribas QF; I told Specialist I went on vacation, and yet for some reason I was never granted even one extra day or a warning. I mean I had been moving pretty handly through this tournament and then I just get robbed of a chance to play. I mean give me a break it's a QF...

2. Sony Ericsson; I played Banthasmaker and beat him 6-1, 6-4, I thought I reported it, but I guess I did not, but neither did Banthasmaker so the W/O went to Banthasmaker. I indicated this to the tournament host merely hours after this happenned. No justice, not even the courtesy of a message back, SHERLOCK.

Finally this community has it's arrogant individuals, which I can put up with but it's sad to see that it has become the majority of people here. Nonetheless I have met many people on here I really enjoy, Rob, ILuvBillVal, MURDA, ZIZOU, Emate, bkristian, and Adimu. Just too sad it's such a small list.

I apologize to anyone I may have been rude to, Specialist etc.. It makes me sad to leave because I know I could have been a fixture inside the top 20, but I don't want to put up with any of the aforementioned any longer.

Good luck and goodbye.

I don't really know what was behind the second match.

But about this first match.

Did you actually contact the host explaining him the situation?

If you go on holiday you can tell your opponent but if you want an extra day specially on a QF there must be a way to give it to you. But you do need to contact the host before you are leaving. Cause that holiday was planned i guess ?

On the second match actually the same question. Did you contact the senior-host about this?

If you did play the match all you needed to do is write Sherlock and he could check if the score was the same. Probably by asking your opponent.
But if he doesn't answer write the senior host.

I hope you're gonna reconsider . Cause you will not be the first one not contacting the host and getting all miss understandings.

Contacting the host is the key. And if that doesn't work write the senior host.

Bummer man, you're a great player. Does this mean you'll stop kicking my ass late night as well, or just ITST? :P
I think half my losses the last 3 months are from playing you at midnight, haha...

But about this:

I've heard others reference these cliques as well, but I don't see it? PM if you wish, but I don't think there is any grand conspiracy to punish certain players...
Anyways, best of luck, I'm sure I'll see you in the WT wilderness soon enough.

And you guys should both keep quiet if you don't know wtf you're talking about. You do get bonus points for teaming up and quoting both Ice Cube and referencing a silly anime show; that's quite the combo.
But seriously, you guys don't even play on the same system. And it's not like chunk is an active forum member, so I'm sure your interaction with him has been very limited.

Free advice for the forum AND for life: if you don't know what's going on, best to keep your thoughts to yourself. Or as Abe Lincoln famously said:

"better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

That's not Ice Cube BTW.

Snoop Dizzle says it in a Dr. Dre song

You were given an extra day, but the reason you didn't get more is.......

The day after the deadline, you had never responded to your opponent, and you had never made any mention to me that you needed extra time. It wasn't until 3 days after the deadline that you finally replied to your opponent - and it's only now (almost a week later) that I'm learning that you needed any extra time.

I have no problem giving you extra days if you show you are trying to arrange the match, or at least let me know you need extra time - but there was no reason for me to think you were going to get the match played any time soon, so I saw no reason to delay the tournament any further.

As for your other match:

I don't know all the details, but if Sherlock hasn't replied to you, then he probably hasn't read your message yet. He was certainly correct to give your opponent the walkover though - if you never reply to your opponents message, and then you forget to submit a score, I don't see how you can blame the host.

I don't think you should leave man. I enjoy you very much as well! I would say as advice just,

1: Try to have a good line of communication with all your opponents via PM and try to be nice to everyone, no matter what crap they might talk.

2: Try to be as diligent as possible with posting match results and things of that nature.

You definitely have a "balls to the wall" awesome game that gets better and better the more we play, and it would be a shame to see talent like that slip by the wayside if you ask me.
Norberto H or bust.

Seems like there has been lot of misunderstanding mostly from your part.

Really the host are pretty willing but you need to inform them.

Sorry ChunkDEUCE, I did not read your message until just a few minutes ago. I did check my messages the day after the deadline passed and I submitted all my results, but it must have been just before you wrote me. I will do my best to rectify the situation, but it is difficult now that the next round deadline is today.
