Best players for each shot

Postby VillaJ100 » Thu, 25 Mar 2010 00:36

This has probably been done before, but not with the new sim setup!

So name your best players for these gameplay qualities :) Name the player they use them for too if you wish.

Forehand:
Backhand:
Serve:
Return:
Volley:
Attacking play:
Defensive play:
All-court play:
Movement:
Risking ability:
Passing shots:
Playing under pressure/low stamina/tricky 'weather conditions':

My picks would be

Forehand: Pocho as cannon. It was unstoppable. although last time i played djarvik was ages ago, that needs a honourable mention too.

Backhand: hard to say, for the low stat coke does phenomenally well, and the Cannon guys do too. Bt Sound as lightman hits some class ones.

Serve: maximo as old Bashmakov. Hit 100% of serves in, perfect mising of serves. I had no chance. even though a old charater, i still think he'd do well with less power.

Return: Brgerflipr as bishop? i think it was bishop. The only game so far in which my SV game has been completely dismanted. although fedfan as gray and tonedawg hit some brilliant returns.

Volley: Very close. Tomvbs, Sound, Pocho and v_x_m all hit great ones, so consistently. However, i thik darkpaladin shades it, just.

Attacking play: I'd have to stump for Tomvbs. Every serve is serve and volley, and when returning is constantly looking to reach the net. although even though we've never played, Andymachines risking game is very attacking i've heard and when on fire brings great reward.

Defensive play: Coke, Fedfan and Olitchno. These guys always make me hit another shot, and then anoher, its murderous.

All-court play: I'd go for Pocho. Josenylund and Djarvik the guys are excellent in every part of the court. No weakness.

Movement: Coke for his use of thompson, however it amazes me how well the Cannon guys move, so credit to them for that.

Risking ability: Tonedawg. The consistency is ridiculous.

Passing shots: Coke, Brgerflipr, Josenylund, Alex, All make me play at my best.

Playing under pressure/low stamina/tricky 'weather conditions': From my experience, i'd say Josenylund, and Alex and Maximo. although although we've never played from what i heard if TOMO's connection is that bad to play so good then he must have his brain hardwired to the game to do so well.

Give your opinions. Sorry for leaving anyone out, these are all the guys i played recently :)

Yes thats true on MS but on Sim i feel totally helpless , and am struggling to win more than 4 games on average a match, i get hopelessy overpowered but its always great fun playing you guys and seeing some of the brilliant shots

Forehand: Alex. hits good "surprising" winners with the forehand , when u least expect it.
Backhand: Not sure about this one. Almost everyone hits better with the b-hand than the forehand. maybe tonedawg.
Serve: Tonedawg,Marlonbrando, maximo. The once that i struggle the most with.
Return: Djarvik,Coke, alex. Put most balls back in play.
Volley: Villaj,V_x_m. Hits good volleys consistently.
Attacking play: tonedawg, nitoflament. With me probably the once that risk the most.
Defensive play: Alex,Olitchno, maximo. Can chase almost everything down.
All-court play: Alex. Can play D , good offensive game , volly etc.
Movement: Coke , djavik
Risking ability: Same as in Attacking play.
Passing shots: Coke

Sound - that's high praise bro, I probably don't deserve it, but i'll take it! :-)

Forehand: TOMO - I've never eaten so many winners in my life.
Backhand: Lonamer - Something special about that one-hander.
Serve: TOMO for sheer power & dominance. Alex for skill because his serve stat is always low, but he places well and is impossible to break
Return: Tonedawg - his constant risking always keeps me on my toes
Volley: DarkPaladin - superb serve & volleying
Attacking play: Villaj - no matter what, he's moving forward. He's like Edberg & Sampras on steroids
Defensive play: Djarvik - moves and anticipates well. So tough to hit a clean winner against.
All-court play: Djarvik & Jose - they can do it all. SIM, MS, MSS. Any style, any surface, any court. The total package.
Movement: Alex & Lonamer - playing against them is always a joy. They're so smooth w/ their movements. Makes everything look easy.
Risking ability: Tonedawg, Maximo, Andy - everytime we play, their winners triple mine. I'm always fighting for my life running around.
Passing shots: ??? - I never go to the net, so I can't get passed.
Playing under pressure/low stamina/tricky 'weather conditions': Coke - always finds a way to win. Great player.

Sound, I guess I don't impress you in any category

Sorry guys, just haven't had much time to play lately. Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have some more time and will start impressing you 8)

Here are mine:

Forehand: Jose - Very precise and consistent with it.
Backhand: Lonamer - His one hander is absolutely unpickable, unlike ANY other one hander on ITST PS3 tour.
Serve: TOMO - Mainly because his serve I struggle with the most. Weather it's "wind" or his skill....bottom line, I just cant reach any of his serves. tonedawg skill-wise is likely the best thou.
Return: A lot of good returners now, but in my book, the best returners are the more consistent ones, not the ones who out right double trigger a few times in a tie break and get lucky. Coke and Alex.
Volley: Surprisingly, many. Villa, Sound and Dark Paladin are probably are the best.
Attacking play: Nito with "windy weather", Jose with no wing.
Defensive play: brgerfliper - runs down a lot of balls and changes direction well. He also has a great shot down the line when stretched wide. tonedawg is extremely tough to put away and also has a good counter-punching skills.
All-court play: Alex - Can and does hit all the shots. Big play book, like that a lot.
Movement: Most of us in SIM move well, but Alex's movment is the most efficient. Jose and Coke are up there with him.
Risking ability: Jose, Nito, Alex - all can risk well. Alex mixes his risks better, Nito risks often and early, Jose is the best shot maker.
Passing shots: coke ...but honestly, when I hit the net is to finish the point. So I rarely get passed.
Playing under pressure/low stamina/tricky 'weather conditions': TOMO, Nito.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
