CPU Styles of Play

Postby falks941 » Fri, 05 Mar 2010 21:46

Most people hav surely noticed that in career mode, the CPUs tend to use a number of different styles, e.g. hitting up the lines with power, or angle the balls short etc.

How many different styles do they have on this game? cause each player appears to have a distinct style. My least favourite are the ones who keep hitting it short, like Nadal and Fungawa.

nadal has the most ridiculous and easiest ai i've seen in a long time in any video game of any kind... he hits cross-court...and then, he hits cross court, and then he hits cross court, and then he hits cross court, he hits cross court once again, wait dont hit cross court, dont hit cross court!...yup..he hit cross court....then he may hit down the line but if you havent won the point at this stage.....

most of the other players hit all at your backhand like murray or nalbandian, and fed hits the first shots down the line after changing...

Yeah true. Nadals easy, but Fungawa seems to have a different style. She hits the short balls, but its so difficult to hit winners, because you have to hit winners up the lines, and she always gets them. I don't mind playing any other type.

Does anyone online use this tactic?

I don't know if any other 360 people have noticed this but when you delete your cache (to make a new custom character) and play the CPU before restoring the updates, it's a LOT tougher than the CPU after you reinstall the updates. Still really beatable but it hits a lot more crazy risk shots

CPU characters

Fungawa is the GOAT of this game lol. When i first got it, my loss to her was devastating lol.

She hits deep and hard, crosscourt and short, flat then topsin, hits great down the line passing shots.

Federer annoys me. Simply because for the first set, he's going to your backhand constantly (when your character is right handed). Second set he transitions to hitting to your forehand but still tries to win points by going to a righty's bakhand. The third set he's going full force with forehands down the line and topspin crosscourt shots to my backhand. It shouldn't annoy me because i know how he plays but everytime i play i wish he'd changed it up LOL.

Kuznetsova is another one, her forehand crosscourt comes out of nowhere even when you think you've got her off the court.

kuznetsova just risks everything! if it goes in, you'll lose, and if she misses you'll win. her winner and unforced error count is huge for a CPU.
