Changing SIM Character

Postby fedfan » Tue, 23 Feb 2010 23:45

I think I need a change of character, I really enjoy my Lorenz character but the frustration of not feeling competitive is worse, plus my inflated PS3 ranking isnt helping me find matches to build confidence. I have yet to find anyone on either tour using this character and the constant beatings are giving me the yips.

the new cannon for me works better and also tompson is top, especially his speed, he helps you stay in the rallies and take your chances. I have to practise a lot though to get competitive...

Anyway in my opinion players you should have in your roster are tompson, cannon, nakamura.

Join me and use the DR!

Otherwise I think the more competetive ones are the good returners (gray/nakamura) since I'm seeing them everywhere. The new canon looks good, too.

i think that if u change your tactic with lorenz u will win more matches, i think u must win short point , in long rallies lorenz is not too good, if u try to hit a good service, 1 or 2 shots for to dominate the point and then to look for the net ( but not S&V) u will be more dangerous, is only a sugestion.

I think you need to change the strategy with Lorenz.

Try a High Risk game. Make it a personal goal to NOT hit any shots without at least holding L2 (LT). You will miss a lot, and you will make a lot. After a few matches, your timing will improve. I think you should also avoid cross court rallies, your only cross courts have to be the double risked winners. Your speed prevents you from playing the open court rallies. Go down the line more....make it deep.

I think you should definitely play shorter rallies with Lorenz. This is a shot maker setup, if you have a ball in a comfortable position - hit a winner.

I am surprised no one else is using Lorenz. Especially the high risk guys like Andy, Jose, or even Alex.

What is the single biggest problem you face when playing using Lorenz?

Personally I don't use him cause hes too short, same for bishop and sixx. Too many good servers out there, need more reach on returns

i don't know how I missed lorenz when I was scanning through the list, but this thread has made me want to try him! It's like there was a blind spot on the pdf when I checked it the first 50 times, he seems perfect for me now that I think about it.

On second thought... maybe a bit slow. That's probably why I overlooked him every other time.
