World Tour Animosity?

Postby ChunkDEUCE » Fri, 08 Jan 2010 00:52

I'm sorry, but I have recently been just getting SICK AND TIRED of all the hate I receive when I play World Tour. First off, I don't care how you choose to play so don't mind my style either. I'm really getting just completely fed up with the sportsmanship of some of the people on the tour. I try to conduct myself in a respectable manner, but it's really hard to when I have to listen to every other person bitch and moan about oh I do this and that.

My request is that people just calm down, this is a game, and World Tour has NOTHING to do with ITST. I don't need to name names, but it's just in my opinion that the sportsmanship of this community has become out of hand.

Oh and if there is something you want to say to me, anyone, go ahead, but I just would love to see everybody's game do the talking instead of the constant bickering...

Also I would love to hear from other's to see if anyone else is having these issues.

If your problem is with WT, why are you posting here? :? ITST is not responsible for behavior of it's member outside of ITST.

Just do that:

but I just would love to see everybody's game do the talking

1 thing, we have fantstic games and your a great player although you do have to follow your own advice. Our game the other day showed me a different side to you, although you did appologies. After you won the first set, I came back in second, you started to shortslice return inside the baseline but still lost the match. Then you deleted me from your friends list. Now here's the thing, there's a code of respect between itst players. So while playing world tour if you know the opposing player is an itst player then it is respectful to play within the itst rules. If world tour didn't mean much to you then why: 1 .did you come in to shortslice me when I started to control the match and 2. delete me once I won. Your a great player and I do enjoy our games it was the first time you shortsliced me, After many meetings so I can't fault you on that but I was a bit baffled at your behaviour in that meeting. 09

Sorry to contradict you djarvik but it does have something to do with itst! that's like saying a school child must act accordingly in school but once school is done who cares. Not the right attitude. He's voiced he opinion. I've answered so why voice to block. As long as people are respectful and not disrespecting one another then freedom of speech should be fine. Plus why would they have a post forum for anything unrelated to topspin? As you so frequantely remind me 8)

Following your logic: Is the school responsible for what a child does when he is not in school? Should the child be punished because he is doing his homework and is not wearing uniform?

You are completely off.

don´t take that to serious . that are only words from a man with bad sportmanship. thats all

first,
it was only worldtour not itst .
you can play with 100/30 setup or whatever .
let out frustration
in WT ALL IS LEGAL

WT is like UFC in early days . no rules .

so i give you one advice : don´t go in discuss .
when someone attack you in WT - kick him with a a message and forget the story

no need for drama.
when you need drama call out names !!
but i think here is no need to call out names !!

I am sick of these people who say WT is different from ITST.
If both players are ITST members, at least show some respect!
Using a stacked player to bully a sim player is bad enough, and cheesy tactics? Really?
But this is not new for me at all. And nothing is more satisfying than shutting them up with a sim player and fair play.

I can see both sides to this:

On one hand, WT is different from ITST. There are no rules, any character is allowed, and you really shouldn't send angry messages to anyone for how they play on WT (I could take my own advice on that sometimes )

On the other hand, I think there is a bit of an understood "gentleman's agreement" when playing other ITST members - that you play fairly as you would in an ITST match.

Either way, it doesn't need to spill on to these forums. I don't care if you want to talk about what is and isn't expected of ITST members when playing WT (how else are we supposed to know what is expected?), but as GOA said, keep the names out and avoid the drama.

:? I guess we can discuss it with no names. (hopefully)

Personally, I think that you can't "force" someone to be a gentlemen. Either you are or you ain't. The discussion in this thread will not change a thing. Getting frustrated over someone being an ass to you is not worth it. I think it is best to follow OP's and Pica's advise and simply let your tennis speak.
To me, the most important part is being consistent. I don't mind if you are an ass, but don't be a two faced ass.

Nice thread.

I played Chunk. I played Burns (51 weaker wing, 54 power)

I broke him in the first set . But due to short slices in every point in the rallies he won the first set in the end, cause hitting them with my stats will give a weak reply directly . And a stacked can then take over without any problem.
I was fine till there.

But in the second set you started to return inside the baseline. I didn't even play. Saml64 invited me for a match and left directly.

I agree people can do what they want in the WT . But regardless of you playing for ITST or not. I don't play against people who return inside the baseline on the WT.
I have zero interest winning in the WT or in ITST when I am being outcheesed. That is with everypoint hitting short slices to win or to return inside the baseline.
For me if you paly ITST you are standing for something. But some people just wanna win in a video game. That's your choice. But I am not on the same page.

I love to be outplayed and then love to finish the match. But outcheesed is just a waste of my time.

I think the hating you bring into yourself . Instead of you talking about other people complaining about you , you might wanna change yourself .

When I left I didn't say anything to you . You were the one who started moaning after really .

What I'd like to know is who exactly mentioned names? As far as I have read i am the closest as I directed it at chunk but, I never disrespected him
Nor was my message confrontational. It was as respectful as I could manage while getting my point across.

Djarvic: ok I received racist comments on world tour, but it was by a fellow itst player. I told him if I saw him play again on itst I would expose him for who and what he is, he's not played again as far as I know. And I doubt he will, and if he does then well. I guess that's an extreme version. why is it we can't say a word about eachother gentleman can discuss kids bicker. I really don't mind if people voice there opinion about me my style of player or my unsporting conduct if anyone has witnessed it. Actually that brings me on to a point do I cheese when I play. All I play is ts3 really but my ratings is like 35 prefer or no comments been made and 65 prefer not to play or avoid of which 45 % unsportsman like 15%quit early and 5 % language. Ive never been aggresive unless provoked, ok quit early I'm guilty, not because I'm losing but if I'm playing world tour match against and a member on itst wants to play I tend to quit and jump in but I quit not disconnect like most cheesers on world tour. But unportsporting that baffles me . And I feel its affecting my ability to connect to games. I have no one to play  Please if you guys play me can you put prefered. thanks.

Simple really, this is a public forum. Someone calling you names is not a public matter, rather private. You can either send him nasty messages back, block the communications or if it happens with an ITST members within the confinements of ITST send a messages to one of the hosts or better to a manager.

Threads like this always end up being personal and lead to dirt being throw around. OP mentioned no names, but you stepped up and threw some his direction and some other direction of some other member that eventually will see himself in your comments and will come in and throw some in your direction and maybe someone's else....in a few posts you end up with so much crap  you close the thread.

The fact that many don't want to play you simply says just that - they don't want to play you  reasoning can range from people being sore losers, to people simply looking for a different experience and so on...

I will add you to preferred players, if I already didn't do so.

I just don't understand why any ITST player would want to even bother using cheesy tactics in wt such as inside the baseline slice returns, etc.. just doesn't make much sense but whatever :?

Another BS thread, Although I completly disagree with WT being ITST, Djarvik should have the right to play whatever tactic outside an ITST match. Also, people don't need to love one another just because there both a part of ITST :?. Weird logics. Also ITST doesnt control anyones friendslist :?, anyone can add/remove anyone. Move along now.....
