Anyone know how to hit good drop shots because when i hit them i get one out of about 100 thats actually great.. the rest either hit the net or just dont drop they are basically waiting to be risked  do you use the stick or buttons because ive used both and still suck ive even tried to use R2 and L2 and both together and get no luck, maybe my timing is off.

I use the stick. But the key to a good drop shot is less in placement or depth, the key is timing. Best way to score with drop shot is to wrong foot your opponent. basically drop in the opposite direction of your opponent movement. The split second that it takes him to change direction is enough to score the point even if drop shot is mid court.

I use the stick and I find the timing is completely different from regular shots.

Yeah i use the stick too, but hitting a good drop shot it´s really hard. Most of my drop shots just make my opponent go to the net. They almost always reach the ball
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

you must play your dropshoots with stick (both down) and cross !!
that is the key for a good dropshoot.
and also you need enough time for timing

Ill test some things out  i sometimes get really luck, but most days its just a case of middle court action and not actually dropping :P

only try drop shots when you pull your opponent off the court with some top spin or push them back with top spin---it usually doesnt work after you give your opponent a hard flat shot

Drop shots are the hardest shots for me. I really have no idea how to time them.

Well ever since i played coke, i knew there was a trick to the trade because he was dropshotting so close to the line and extremely close to the net and considering im a baseliner i dont often have the need to run to the net but these drop shots he was pulling of were of a different nature  I tried exactly what coke said and Goa said and it has really helped me, im not too sure how it will pan out in ITST but against the cpu (Federer) Very hard mode i could do these drop shots quite freqeuntly. Look at the posts coke and Goa made, sure helped me! Good luck :)

because he is using the Y button and triggering.....if you use the stick you are able to disguise it more.....but, also when everyone has 90 on speed its quite difficult to pull off a drop shot   you wanna try and catch the ball when it is at your waist---if you hit the ball to high well itll be too deep and if you hit it when the ball is at your feet itll go into the net

That's because you pressing shot buttons way too early, before actually seeing whats coming...effectively pre-selecting a shot and therefore playing a glorified lottery game called TS3
